PERSONALITY
Kyle is without a doubt an outspoken guy. Sometimes it's almost like he never thinks before thinking, because his bluntness seems to know no bound. It's not like he's out to hurt people, he just says what he wants when he wants to, without any care or worries as to what the consequences might be. At least, when he's at school - he tries to keep himself a bit more out of trouble when he goes back home. In spite of his being an extraverted guy, he's rather secretive when it comes to personal matters, and very few people know anything of his life - he doesn't like talking about it, and it's extremely hard to get his wall down on that aspect. Yet he's the kind of guy you look at and instantly feel like you can tell everything to, especially when it comes to girls, maybe because of the fact that he's much of a charmer too. His relationships have always been quite uneven, because he always knows more about his girlfriends than they know about him, getting them to tell him everything he wants to know and always skillfully avoiding questions about himself, until it hits the point that he or she gets tired of it.
He's a very obstinate guy. If an opinion is rooted in his mind, there's no getting it out of there, it's as simple as that. Even when he's wrong, he'll fight tooth and nail, and it doesn't stop even if he finds out that he's wrong, as long as he doesn't find out when the person he's having an argument with is there. He needs to be right, and giving in is never something he does. If there comes a time when he's in the middle of an argument and, in some way or another, he's proved wrong, he just moves on and changes the subject with a 'whatever' or 'oh well'. Sometimes it's a wonder he even gets friends and girls at all, but he's just that kind of a guy that you can't do without once you get to know him. Of course, he also has plenty of enemies, but they don't really bother him, because he doesn't trouble himself much with other people's opinions, unless they matter to him. He's a very active guy and he always spends at least an hour each day outside, doing some sort of sport, in winter as much as in summer.
He's without a doubt a big favorite with girls, either because of his looks, which aren't anything to complain about, or the fact that he just always seems to know the right thing to say, and when to say it. He's not exactly what could be called a flirt, and he's a loyal type of guy, but he definitely uses everything he can to his advantage when he wants to get in a girl's bed, or get closer to her. He's a big fan of the ladies, and to him sex is really just something that has to do with physical abilities and chemistry. He doesn't really bother with emotions, though he's had girlfriends whom he cared about more than others, but love isn't something he's achieved yet.
APPEARANCE
Kyle is definitely the type of guy that's very agreeable to look at. Standing at 5'11", with a body that can easily be described as athetlic and well defined muscles, though he can't be considered bulky either, he's a nice sight to have. His hair that was once blonde, now dirty blonde - almost light brown - is kept cut short, though it curls when he lets it grow ever so slightly, and his piercing light blue eyes are definitely one of his most used tools when trying to charm girls. Mixed with one of his crooked smile, one look at them can be enough to make their knees weaken, and he knows it very well. He's not one to spend a lot of time on his appearance though - he often skips shaving, and it'll happen that his hair will grow out ever so slightly before he bothers with getting it cut. However, it doesn't make him look careless, it merely gives a slightly rugged, manly edge to his good looks.
Clothing isn't near to being one of his priorities, but he does tend to shop in stores that are a bit more high scaled, not because he's a vain guy or anything, just because they're the clothes that tend to fit him best. He does much prefer jeans to any other type of pants, and they're the ones that fit him best too, but t-shirts aren't really something he likes wearing - he'll be more likely to go for a button down shirt, though he does have a few simpler shirts here and there. He's definitely not above wearing sweats on lazy days either, or when he goes for a morning jog or plays other type of sports, and anything that's comfortable is what he'll want to wear.
HISTORY
Kyle Brendan Lowell was born to Lindsay and Julian Lowell on the 6th of November 1992, in the town of Cumberland, Rhode Island. Julian worked in the police force and Lindsay was a stay at home mom to her three year old daughter, Lily, and now Kyle who'd just joined the family. They always seemed to have the perfect life, the American dream with the nice, two levels house and white picketfence, the pool and swingset in the backyard, the SUV in the driveway and a cuddly, friendly golden retriever, and it had all started in high school when Julian, quarterback of the football team, had started dating sweet, popular Lindsay Kane, not a cheerleader but class president and valedictorian of her senior year, and they dated for two full years before Julian proposed on the night of their graduation day. The wedding was simple, as they were both young still when they were married, but touching and beautiful, and everybody agreed to say this would be a long, happy marriage. They were right, too.
Or at least, they would have been was it not for fate's intervention. When Kyle was six, he was invited to spend the night with a few friends, and he pleaded with his parents that they let him go, which they agreed to after talking to the parents who would be at home for the boys. The whole little family went out to dinner first, and then Julian and Lindsay dropped him off at his friends' house before driving home with Lily. It was three in the morning when the doorbell rang at the Wallace house, where the boys had only just fallen asleep. Everybody kept on steadily sleeping, but Kyle was awoken by his friend's father who brought him upstairs, where he went past his friend's mom who had tears in her eyes, to come face to face with two police officers. Even at his tender age, Kyle knew what death was - maybe he didn't fully understand the gravity of it, but when his pet hamster had passed on the previous year, his parents had explained to him that the small furry animal would never wake up again, that he would be asleep forever. And now, his parents and sister had in turn gone to their eternal slumber.
He didn't remember much of the funerals, only that there were a lot of crying people whom he didn't even know, and that his dad, mom and sister lay there in big boxes with their eyes closed, looking waxen and stiff, and that those boxes soon disappeared into the ground with big stones towering over the holes. It wasn't hard to know what needed to be done with the child - both Linsday and Julian had no siblings, their parents passed on and with no living relative to speak of who wanted of him. He was allowed two bags of his toys and clothes before he was sent to St. Mary's Home for Children in East Providence, with the hopes that a couple would come by that wanted to adopt him. There was, however, not much faith that this would happen - most couples who seeked to adopt were usually likely to want a newborn baby, as young as they could find, or a toddler at the very most. After two years spent there, Kyle himself started to realize this, but he didn't complain - he'd closed up on himself, barely spoke, and only wrote in journals that had been given to him by some kind volunteers. At first he didn't write much, merely doodled, but by the time he'd turned eight he'd started writing stories, rather plain and even slightly morbid for a child his age, but there was no denying that there was something special about his writing.
Six months after his eighth birthday, something akin to a miracle - or at least so it seemed to many people around - happened. Topher and Jessa Quinn had been dating since their teenage years and had gotten married right out of high school, eager to start their family, but they'd encountered quite a few bumps in the road, and by the time they were both twenty three they passed a few tests that gave bad news - they couldn't conceive, neither together or with anybody else for that matter. They'd started the process for adoption, but were told that, with the waiting list, it could be years before they had a baby of their own. They'd talked it over for a long time, and by the time they were both nearing their thirties, they decided that they wanted a child, no matter his age. They drove up to St. Mary's from Newport, and that was where they were introduced to young Kyle. A couple of hours of talking together was enough for the couple to make their own decision - they had to take this young boy. Their friendliness had been enough to almost break down Kyle's wall, and Jessa especially was convinced that loving this boy and getting him to love her was something she could do.
The papers were signed and the adoption was made legal within a few weeks, during which Jessa and Topher had re-decorated one of the rooms at home for the young boy to live in, making sure to include things he'd like in it, filling an old fashioned book shelf with novels and comics. They'd found his liking of writing, and they planned on encouraging it as much as they could. It took him a couple of years, however, because he entirely warmed up to them and called them mom and dad. They treated him the same way they would have treated their own kid, Topher taking him out for ball games when he found the little guy liked that sport, Jessa giving him all the care and tenderness her heart and soul could muster, and he grew to be a bright, lively kid, who then turned into an active, outspoken, stubborn guy. In the meantime, his passion for writing continued to grow, and that was always where he hid himself on those days he didn't feel like talking to other people. It was his decision to enroll to Gordon Parks', following a suggestion from an English Literature teacher, gathering all the information he could find about the school and pleading the case to his parents. Topher was quick to agree, finding it an amazing opportunity for the boy he saw as his son now to receive a great education and do what he loved, but Jessa wasn't so quick to be convinced. The only thing she saw from all of this was that her son would be gone almost nine months a year, but after some more talking, she gave in to the idea, giving him all of her support wholeheartedly as he applied to the school and was soon accepted on a full scholarship.
