Haylee was definitely looking forward to going home for Christmas time. She felt like it was forever ago since she'd seen her parents and brothers, and she was missing them so much. That was the toughest part about going to boarding school, especially one that was so far away from her family - being away from those she loved was a challenge, but in the end, she really loved Gordon Parks'. It was amazing how much she had learned in such a short amount of time, and how much her musical skills had improved. She just thrived and blossomed with so much knowledge to absorb and so many interesting and talented people around her. Though to be honest, she didn't have a whole lot of friends, but she'd never really been the type to enjoy hanging out in large groups of people. That was more Dustin's style. She much preferred her small group of friends, whom she could get closer to. Besides, big groups of people usually included boys, and that usually rendered her too shy to say much. Which unfortunately made it pretty tricky to get herself a boyfriend like all of her friends seemed to be on their way to doing, but oh well. She didn't know if she was ready for a boyfriend anyway.
She still had a couple of days to go before she would be able to go on home, with a few exams in the way. She wasn't nervous about any of those, though - she knew she was well prepared, and she had studied more than enough to guarantee herself a good grade. Currently though, she was taking a break of it - she didn't think it was a good thing to just cram before an exam, if anything it made it that much more tiring and stressful. She preferred spreading out her study sessions in a way that wouldn't make her head feel like it was ready to explode, and since she'd been at it for a couple of hours, now was as good as any time to get out of her rooms - and probably her pajamas too. She grabbed her clothes and headed into the bathroom to get them on, brushing her hair and smoothing it down some before applying a light coat of lip gloss and eyeshadow. Once that was all done to her satisfaction, she walked back into her room and grabbed her winter coat, pulling on her pair of boots along with her scarf and hat, shoving mittens in her pockets in case she would need them. She wasn't sure where she was headed just yet, but she figured she could just walk around until she figured it out - though it was winter time, the weather was still mild enough that she didn't mind the idea of chilling outside for a little bit. That was, until she started walking across the school grounds and slipped on a patch of ice, hitting her left wrist at a bad angle as she let out a light shriek of surprise.
