Even though it was a very chilly day, Alexis found herself outside sitting on a bench doing her math homework. They were doing Algebra one stuff, and Alexis was doing it so quickly, that she knew that she would end up having to do her English homework before too long. When she was in the seventh and eighth grade she took pre-algebra and Algebra one, so it was all stuff that she had done before. Then again, math is her all time favorite subject, though. So even if she hadn't done it last year, she bet she would have done well with it anyways. Because she only had about three problems left, she glanced at the English assignments she has to do before tomorrow. They were all on grammar stuff. One was to circle the adverbs in all of the sentences, then underline the nouns, draw boxes around the verb, star all of the conjunctions, and put an X though all of the commas that did not belong in the right spots. The other two were just fixing this seven page long paper. They were told it had over one hundred errors, so that was going to be fun. She almost though about calling Zachary to come and help her, but because this was really nothing like helping her (more like just showing her where the answers were), she didn't. She closed up her math book, and her paper with all of her work on it flew up in the air, and landed about five feet in front of her. That was one thing she hated about doing her homework outside in the cold weather, it always flies away! Sighing, she got up to pick it up and then placed it inside her math book. That way it would be safe, and not fly away. She thought ahead about her English work, and had placed those papers under a small rock that she found right under the bench she was sitting on.
The thing that was bothering her more than her papers flying away was the way her hair was flying all over the place. This morning she had Cara put her hair into pigtail French braids, and the wind was blowing it all out of place. Still, doing her homework outside was just so much nicer than doing it outside. If she had stayed in her room, she knew that she would just end up going on her IM and blasting her iPod and not paying attention. When Zachary came over to help her, he had basically told her that doing work like that was not a good way to get it done. So, the only thing Alexis had with her at the moment was her cell phone. Sighing loudly, she picked up the first English paper, and looked at it. It had about forty sentences on it that she was going to have to pick apart. Damn double sided papers! If it was only twenty, that would not have been as bad. But, as it was, it had a back. She got out her purple pen, and started to work on it. The sun was at the perfect position. It was like it was right over her. Still, she was wearing a sweatshirt and a light jacket. They match each other, so the look doesn't look too silly. Both are light purple with the drama masks on them. Plus, both the jacket and the sweatshirt have "Alexis" on the sleeve of them. She has sweat pants that match those two things, but she would never even dream of wearing them all together. That would just be giving people to mock her for the rest of her life. Instead, she was just wearing her faded blue jeans. She figured that there was nothing wrong with this outfit because even Cara had told Alexis she looked 'Cute'.
Oddly enough, Alexis started to get this wear feeling that someone was watching her or looking at her or something like that. A shiver ran down her spine. She hated getting that feeling. She didn’t really want to turn around, though. Because if there was indeed someone standing right behind her or something, maybe they would just pass her and go away. Or, maybe the person was actually in front of her but not close enough for Alexis to see? She was, after all, on top of a hill. She thought she heard someone running? Maybe? She hoped and prayed that it wouldn’t be someone from GPA. Well, unless of course it was someone that she liked…then she wouldn’t mind at all.
