Katherine smiled as she looked at her text from Caleb. He had plans tonight. He barely ever got out. She would be alone tonight, but at least he was doing something without her. She texted him back and slipped her phone into her back pocket. She wondered who he was going out with. She hoped it was a girl. He deserved a nice girl in his life. It had been awhile since his last awful break up. The one she saw coming way before it happened. She hated how girls had a tendency to use him for his money and caring nature. If he was going out with a girl, this girl better know what she is doing or Kat would have to deal with her herself and that was never a pretty site. She could get mean when had to do with her brother. She loved him to much to be anything even remotely nice to anyone who treated him poorly. She checked her phone to check if he texted back, he hadn't. She sighed as she slipped it back into her back pocket. Sometimes she missed having him at her side. Then again she was happy he wasn't. It was easier to make a CD for him, if he wasn't around.
She pulled her coat tighter around her as she crossed the campus lawn. She loved this school, more then anything else. Well besides her family of course. It was after all her second home. Nothing beat anything like coming home after a long summer away. Even though it was already November she was still marveling at how much she had missed this place. Normally school was just school to her and yes she tried her best, but she never missed it over the summer, until last summer. She laughed lightly as she remembered Caleb and her telling their parents how they couldn't wait to get back. She watched her feet as she walked. She didn't mind looking at her feet as she walked, in fact sometimes when no one was around she preferred it. It was just another way for her to think. She saw someone else's feet and she looked up and smiled at them. They gave a nod in return and walked on. She loved the people here almost as much as the school. She sighed as she looked at the building she was about to enter and smiled at it, as if it could smile back.
Kat opened the door and stepped inside the heated building. She sighed a sigh of relieve. She then headed to the upper right wing. She was on her way to record a CD for Caleb and maybe even her mom. She loved making them Cd's and sometimes she would just do stupid things with them. The amazing part is they keep them. She would have tossed some of them, and they were her Cd's. She laughed at herself. She looked around the halls. She would never forget this place. She smiled as the Studio came into view. She couldn't wait to get in there and sing. Maybe she would do something silly and unexpected for Caleb. He usually enjoyed those kind of things. She opened the door to the room and put her bag down on the first chair she saw. She dug through it until she found her folder of music and Cd's. She had to shift through them to find the ones she wanted. Eventually she managed to get them all and put them into order. She smiled as she started to hum to herself. She finished setting up and stepped into the room to record and started to sing, losing herself along the way.
