The school felt so empty with everyone out of town for Spring Break. Jelline wanted to pack her bags and head home for a few days of peace and relaxation on the beach, but thought better of it. If she went home there would be some major issues to deal with and not just with her grandfather. She was sure to hear it from her brothers as well. When she was gone, they were left to deal with all the things that came with being in house full of wealth. It was hard work sometimes. Work that Jelline wanted absolutely nothing to deal with. Even with the numerous phone calls she kept receiving from her step family, Jelline refused to step foot at home, knowing for sure that she would not be allowed back here. It made her wonder what the hell she was going to do when summer break came around. Maybe she could talk to Kaylee about spending the break with her. Jelline made a mental note to remind herself to ask her best friend about that situation. Right now, she had to focus on her date - well, it wasn't a date. Was it? Just a meal between friends. She still couldn't believe she actually had the courage to ask Jared out to dinner. They had a nice time at the dance or at least she did. I guess, this was her way of saying thank you. A weird way, but a thank you nonetheless. All this thinking made her head hurt, she wasn't even sure if she was all that hungry anymore. It was just nerves that were bothering her now.
Jelline came up to the entrance of Milano’s. It was well known for authentic homemade Italian cuisines. She pulled open one of the glass doors and let herself in. The scent of tomato sauce and garlic assaulted her nostrils, causing her stomach to rumble aggressively with satisfaction. Thankfully, there weren’t many people so she wouldn’t have to wait long for food to arrive at her table. She looked around the resturaunt for any sign of Jared. It didn't look like he was here yet. She did leave a bit early. She smiled at a few waiters as she walked past and found a nice two person table by a window. It gave a nice view of the town. She sat down, running a hand through her long hair and let her eyes wander over towards the entrance. A few people spilled in from the street, but not one of them was Jared. Good. It gave her a few moments to collect herself. She took in a deep breath as she massaged her head. This headache was killer, she really needed to get some food into her system. As if answering her thoughts, one of the waiters came by and placed a basket of hot breadsticks on the table top. He asked if she wanted anything to drink. “Do you have Dr. Pepper?” the waiter answered with a polite yes. Jelline smiled, “Thanks.” she said before he walked off. Jelline immediately reached out and grabbed a bread stick from the basket. She tore off a piece of the hot bread, chewing it slowly to savor it’s mouthwatering flavor. “Mmm…” she murmured with a soft sigh before taking another bite.
