Josh wasn't someone who often felt nervous or out of place or anything of the sort. Really, he was a quiet, calm type of guy, and it took a lot to rattle his nerves. Of course he had his moments too like anyone else, but really that didn't happen very often, and that was with the fact that he was a teacher in a very well known school where pressure came to professors as much as it came to students, just in a different manner. They had to keep updated on the progress of all their students with every class, hence the meetings they tended to have twice a month or so with the principal, and his grading had to be done without fault, which meant many hours spent pouring over essay after essay two or three times a piece to make sure he hadn't missed anything and that everything had been done accordingly to what it should have. That was bound to put quite a lot of stress on some people, but then he considered all the teachers at the Academy to be pretty incredible in the way they did their job, and he figured he was right on that one seeing as they still worked there.
Right now, however, had to be one of those few situations in which he found himself to be nervous. He was a bit of a traditionalist when it came to certain aspects of relationships, or at least when those relationships got a bit more serious - which really hadn't happened to him very often, and definitely none of his relationships had gotten serious to the point of what he was about to do right now. But this just seemed like it was something important for him to do, and he would feel a lot more at ease with what he had planned if he knew it didn't go against anyone's wishes. Which was why he was currently making his way into the kitchen, where he knew both of Kristen's parents were, to ask them permission to marry their daughter. He knew Kristen was taking a bath at the moment, which was something she tended to draw out so he figured she wouldn't be out any time soon and he would have the needed time to get this done. He entered the kitchen and tried to keep himself as calm as possible as he made his way over to where the two adults were standing, trying to figure on how to start with this. "I was wondering if I may have a word with you, if you're not too busy at the moment?" he asked.
