Vince was actually pretty eager to go sledding with his girlfriend - he hadn't gone for a little over two years now, and it was just one of those winter activities that he still enjoyed even though he wasn't a kid anymore. Snowball fights, building forts, making snow angels, that wasn't quite as fascinating to him as it'd been when he'd been seven and making up stories with Kota, when they each built their fort in their front lawn, facing one another, and just went at it with the snowball fights, but now, sledding and ice skating were actually the two things he still loved to do. And since there hadn't been enough snow either this year or the last when he'd gone back home to spend Christmas with his family, he hadn't gotten the chance to do either of those activities with them, and then upon coming back to the Academy the thought had just left his mind. So when Brooke and Val had decided they wanted to take a Saturday afternoon to go sledding with their group of friends, he'd found it to be a pretty good idea, jumping on the occasion, figuring it would probably be pretty fun.
As it turned out, most of the others they'd asked had declined the offer, but he couldn't say he minded overly. Of course, he liked all of the friends he'd made since he'd gotten to the Academy, but it was nice too to be able to just do something with Val, Kota and Brooke. Kinda like old times, except with his girlfriend added into the lot and that definitely wasn't something he could or wanted to complain about. Thankfully, there was a hill where they could go sledding that wasn't too far from the Academy, meaning they didn't even have to rack their brains to figure out how to get there, taking the time to walk and kidding around a bit as they did, dragging the plastic sleds he'd gone to buy with Kota as a nearby Walmart the day before, figuring there was no point in spending a whole lot of money on this when they were likely to only come sledding once, or maybe twice, this winter. He was pretty happy to find out there wasn't anybody else when they finally got to the sledding hill, rolling his eyes a bit as Val called last one up there a loser and started running up the hill, following suit nonetheless.
