Marissa was feeling exceptionally giddy as of late. Ever since the dance there had been a slight skip to her step. She thought seeing him in class would be awkward, but it wasn’t. They didn’t sit anywhere near each other during any of their, which she found to be strange, but she didn’t dwell on it. During the week, they simply spent their time together over lunch or sometimes dinner whether it was with a group of friends or just the two of them. Things were still new for them, they liked each other, that much was obvious, but they weren’t a couple so the didn’t do the whole holding hands and sharing kisses bit. When Friday came along, Marissa couldn’t be anymore relieved for the weekend. She didn’t know what was planned for her date with Nolan, he refused to tell her despite the many times she pestered him about it or tried to guess only to have him either not answer or just smirk at her. It was so annoying. The only thing she knew for sure was that they were going to meet up at the entrance of the school, it made things simpler. So, once the days classes were over, she went up to her dorm to get ready.
She never really believed the whole acting like lovesick girl after you met someone you really liked, but after spending the night at the dance with Nolan, remembering the kiss they shared afterwards and how flirty they’d been with each other this passing week, it was safe to say she was a firm believer now. It felt like she’d been shot with an arrow by cupid and if this is how it felt to be infatuated with someone then she wished she could feel like this all the time. Singing to herself, she changed into the clothes she picked out after coming out the shower and left her hair in it’s natural waves, not feeling up to straightening it out. She grabbed her key and cell phone, stuffing them into the pocket of her jeans before walking the room to meet up with Nolan. There was a few exchanged greetings as she passed a few friends in the halls before she headed outside, smiling at the nice breezy weather and hoping it stayed this way as she made her towards the entrance of the school. She was thirty minutes early so she wasn’t surprised to not see him there. She took a seat on one of the benches nearby, pulling out her phone to play a few rounds of tetris as she waited.
