PERSONALITY
One of Anna's favorite words is 'yes', and she says it a lot. She believes in taking opportunities that are presented to her and not missing out on life. Much of her decision making happens in the moment and that is how she likes it. Life is too short for her to always be wasting time thinking about what happens next. That isn't to say she's completely irresponsible, she knows that she has a future and can't blow off things that are important to getting that future, but she still does want to have as much fun as she is able to. A strong believer in not having any regrets, she doesn't really apologize that often for things that she'd one that may have wronged other people. It's forgivable to most of her friends because she doesn't really expect apologies out of them either and isn't the type of person that really holds a grudge with anyone. To her holding onto things from the past simply makes it harder to live for the now and accomplish everything. That being said, she usually manages to be fairly considerate of other people's feelings. If she says or does something mean to a person she cares about, it's almost never her intention to hurt them.
Although Anna isn't a control freak and will easily let other people take the lead of projects and anything work related, she does like to be the leader of social activities. It's not that she doesn't want to share the spotlight, it's just that she tends to gravitate toward the center of any group situation. She's usually got suggestions of how to spend free time, a good story to tell, or a joke to share. Being social was just something that she was made for and something that she shines at. She believes that laughter is contagious and loves to catch a fit of the giggles whenever she can, always happy to pass them along to another person as well. Her upbeat personality is sometimes seen a little obnoxious, given that she can be quite loud and excitable, and it takes a lot to get her to a place where she is really feeling down. And when she is, she tends to pull away from people and just want to be left alone. Talking about her problems has never been a strong point and isn't anything that she foresees herself growing better at anytime in the near future.
When it comes to getting her way, Anna is used to it. Some might even call her spoiled and she's certainly not afraid to fight to get what she wants. No isn't a word that she's all that used to hearing and though she's mostly outgrown throwing fits when things don't go her way - there are still times when she can get quite moody about not being able to do what she wants. Although she doesn't hold grudges, her temper comes up in flares. Her anger burning bright for a short amount of time and then fading into nothingness and she sometimes has a hard time with other people not being the same way. In her mind, people should get upset and then get over it just as quickly. Of course she understands that in some cases that's just not possible, but those are rare situations in her mind.
As for dating, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Anna is often one to bounce around in relationships. She enters them often on a whim and can leave them in the same fashion. Nasty breakups aren't her thing though and she does her best to make sure that when a relationship ends, at the very least she can remain on neutral terms with whoever she was in the relationship with. One night stands aren't quite her thing though and she doesn't have that much experience with sex yet, given her age.
APPEARANCE
Although born a natural blonde, the first thing that people tend to notice about Anna is her hair. She loves to dye it and does so often, usually sticking between shades of red although she does occasionally go back to blonde when she feels like it. She has light green eyes that sometimes appear to be blue and light freckles across her face, although she'll usually cover them up with make-up. She's above average in height, standing at 5'8" and in good shape with her weight. She takes good care of herself and never wants to reach a place where she doesn't.
To Anna, clothes are all about expression. Clothes are her way to tell the world what she feels without having to say so. Her closet is an assortment of different pieces, without a clear and set style emerging from it. Colors are her favorite things when it comes to clothes and she owns plenty of different neon shades of shirts, skirts, dresses, and pants. A fairly good shoe collection rounds out her wardrobe, with everything from elegant heels to bright blue tennis shoes. She's never at a loss to find an outfit that speaks to her feelings.
When it comes to make-up, Anna is rarely seen without it because she just considers it a way to even further express herself. As with her wardrobe, color is something that isn't lacking from Anna's make-up routines either. She loves to experiment with what looks good and what doesn't. Her nails are almost always painted because she has a huge nail polish collection, of course of many different colors.
HISTORY
Born on December 2nd, 1995 in Washington D.C. to parents Brian and Claire Robertson, Anneliese would be the only child the two would have. The newly weds were married just under a year when they welcomed the baby girl into their lives and they were more than pleased to do so. Although they were young, the couple was very much in love. They had met in high school and started dating toward the end of their Senior year. While Claire went off to study at college, Brian instead joined up in the army to get his education and on the job training. Shortly after Claire graduated they were married and after their small daughter reached her third birthday, she went to work as an accountant. Soon afterward, Brian started being deployed around the world and doing tours in different countries while his family remained at home. When Anna was just three, the family moved across the country to Carson City, Nevada for Claire had just been offered a raise and benefits to transfer there and it didn't really have an effect on Brain's work to begin with.
From a young age, Anna's parents recognized that Anna loved to be out and in front of everyone else. More than anything else though, she loved to sing songs that she knew and although as a small child it was too soon to tell if she'd actually be any good at it, it quickly became clear that it was a hobby she really enjoyed. Her parents have more than a few video tapes of a young Anna belting out Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears. As she grew older, they realized how singing really was her passion and not just singing but song writing, as Anna brought forth new songs to sing that she made up herself. They were proud of her and decided to get her involved in a vocal class outside of school, to help develop her voice and increase her skill. These lessons turned into her favorite thing in the world and a bargaining chip for her parents to get her to do things that she wasn't particularly inclined to do.
Though her parents were often busy with work, her Dad being actively deployed for much of her childhood, and her Mom working long hours, the family was a happy one. Sure, she missed her Dad a lot while he was gone and so did her Mom and it was hard sometimes on everyone, but they managed. That was until December 15, 2007 when everything in their world was about to change. At 4 in the morning PST, they received a call to let them know that Brian had been involved in an explosion and that he hadn't made it. A silence settled over the house and for a while Anna found it hard to accept it as the truth. Her father was gone so often anyway, it was easier to pretend that he was still alive and that somehow people could be wrong about him. The funeral was the worst day of her life and she often tries to block it from her memory entirely. For a few months after the accident, her mother seemed to just be a shell going around without much purpose and it scared Anna to think that she might have lost two parents instead of just one.
However, at around six months Claire started getting back to being herself and a mother and Anna was glad. It would have been worse if she just moped around for the rest of her days and she knew that it wasn't what her Dad would have wanted either. So when her mother started dating again around her thirteenth, she didn't hold it against her and was glad to see her getting out and about to live her life. What she didn't expect was that she'd meet a guy that she'd actually want to get re-married to and after only six months of dating, the two got engaged and had a wedding only four months later just before Anna's fourteenth birthday. She was involved in the wedding and although she was a bit worried that her mother might be rushing into a rebound relationship, they actually did seem quite happy together. From the union, she gained a step-brother who was only two at the time but in full time custody of Adrian, her new step-father who was both a lawyer and a widower. They all moved into Adrian's house, which was just across town and even though Anna was pretty upset about leaving her house behind, she knew deep down that it was what would be best for her mother.
As her life started to settle back into a normal rhythm, Anna decided that she wanted something more than what she currently had. So, as she approached her freshman year of high school, she started to think of alternatives instead of just going to the local public school. One was more tempting than any other and it was the idea of going to Gordon Parks' Academy, where her older cousin Beatrice had already started her freshman year. She became determined to get in, sure that her singing talents would be enough. And so she sent in her application and was pleased when she got called for an audition, flying out to Kansas City to do so. Afterward she played the waiting game, anxiously checking the mail every day to see if she'd gotten in. When her acceptance letter finally did come, she was ecstatic and couldn't wait to pack her bags in the fall and head to the prestigious Academy.
