Roxie had been having a very good day so far, and she was very happy about all that she and Mandy had accomplished so far. She and Elijah both agreed that they didn't want to wait to get married. They had discussed it a few months after getting engaged, and they'd established that waiting until she was out of high school would be waiting long enough, and she was definitely excited about it. Well, not quite as excited as she would have been if her fiance had been here with her, giving her his input on the decisions they had to make. Granted, he had pretty much given her the green light on almost everything, which was convenient since it would have been a little tricky to plan the small details of the wedding together when he was stationed over in Japan. Still, it didn't feel quite as right to be doing this without him being there with her. She was definitely thankful that she had Mandy to do all of this with - she had of course asked her to be her maid of honor from the starting point - because she didn't think she would have enjoyed this as much if she'd had to do it without her best friend, on top of doing it without her fiance.
They had been productive and the best part of the day had definitely been finding her wedding dress. They had been shopping for it before, and she'd begun to feel a little desperate as nothing seemed to fit her well, or it was all too expensive. And then, they'd stumbled upon the perfect gown, and she'd just stood there staring at her reflection for about ten minutes, feeling like a princess and hoping Elijah would love it as much as she did. Once they'd moved on from the dress shop, they'd headed over to pick out the design for the invitations, which had also been successful. Later on they had plans of starting on the wedding registry, but for the time being they were headed to a bakery to discuss the wedding cake. That was one of the few things Lijah had actually made a request for, which wasn't surprising seeing as it was food, and she'd told him she'd do her best to pick out something he would like to have shoved in his face. She smiled a bit at the thought as she sat at the consultation table with Mandy, waiting for the baker to return with some of the flavor samples.
