PERSONALITY
Kaylee is a sweet, bright, cheerful girl who loves meeting new people and making new friends. She has an extremely friendly way of approaching people and she's not shy in anyway. She is very open to differences - it would be a bit hypocritical not to be, seeing as she is, in a way, different as well, and that it was one of the main reasons why she was rejected as a kid. She now thinks it was a good thing though, since it changed her outlook on life, for a better one in her opinion. She now sees it in a much most optimistic way and she actually enjoys it, enjoys every day at its fullest and is glad to be alive. Her way of being has often inspired others to think the same, which she is extremely happy about - she enjoys helping others as much as she can, and it always makes her feel even better when she succeeds.
She is also a very sensitive girl, and very empathetic. When you go to her, you will probably find the best shoulder to cry on ever. She is also very good at listening and knows that sometimes, people don't need advices, they just need to talk, though that doesn't mean she never gives advices either - just when she feels the person needs and wants them. She has a very curious mind, which has however sometimes gotten her into trouble as she doesn't exactly knows where to stop. She does sometimes gets a bit self conscious, she is after all a sixteen year old girl surrounded by many teenagers, some of them sometimes judging without knowing, and she has yet to completely discover who she is. There are many things about her personality that she doesn't completely let out, and like anybody she has her bad days during which she is very quiet and thoughtful.
Studious and responsible, she is a very good student. It's not really hard for her either, she loves all her classes and likes most of the teachers very much. She usually spends at the very least two years every week in the library, outside of the study times assigned in her timetable, but though she is serious when it comes to her studies, she can be a real party girl and loves to have fun. She's been seen sneaking in a couple of bars quite often as she really loves dancing, and shopping remains one of her favorite activities, especially with all the shops around. This is her city and she simply loves it.
APPEARANCE
Kaylee's appearance has been, for a part of her life, a real problem to her when trying to get accepted by other kids, but now she simply embraces the way she is and accepts it. She is overweight, and quite small, standing at 4 feet 10 inches, but it doesn't make her any less beautiful than any other girl might be. She has long dark brown curly hair and deep sparkling brown eyes with very soft features. Though she is plump, she has curves and manages to show off her best assets in a different way than someone else would. She is not ashamed of the way she is, no matter how many time she's been told she should. She's realized early in her life that if she wanted to be happy, she'd have to accept herself first before caring whether others did or not.
She has a very feminine way of dressing, often wears long shirts that are a bit tighter around the waist and chest and that flows away at the hips, which is the perfect way of dressing for her body type. She also considers jeans to be the most practical kind of pants to wear and she loves the kind that have small cute details on them, like embroidery and things like that. She also often wears skirts and dresses, though she mainly keeps those for the evening or the weekend. She prefers being comfortable during the week. She never really wears much makeup, lipgloss and eyeliner from time to time but that's pretty much it, unless there's a big event, then she puts on a little more, but she likes to keep it natural still.
Accessorizing is also one of the main parts of her dressing style. She especially loves big jewelry - big bracelets, big necklaces. She doesn't really wear rings though, but sometimes earrings, those being rather large as well. She considers belts to be a practically magical item, saying it can make a very plain shirt or dress looks amazing, if you know how to place it well. She often wears colorful silky scarfs to highlight the usually plain and soft colors she wears otherwise, and hats are a big favorite too.
HISTORY
Born early in the morning on the 19th of February 1992, Kaylee joined a family already constituted of six children, being the seventh and last born to Connor and Kate Reynolds. Her oldest brother, Cameron, being already fifteen, followed by three girls and two other boys (twins), Kaylee was actually six years younger than the two youngest, Cody and Karl. Her birth was not planned, but her parents have always told her it was a blessing still. Some of her sisters however, especially the oldest one, Katherine (who was thirteen at the time) didn't exactly see it in the same light as she was a very loud baby and often cried at night, and then there was Karen (8 years old), who was already a slightly insecure little girl and got jealous at the newcomer since she was stealing her role of youngest girl of the family now. Of course, they all accepted her presence sooner or later, but during her childhood, she grew closer to Kimberley, who was 10 years older than her but very protective of her baby sister.
Singing has always been a real passion in her family. Her father was a guitar player, though mostly for entertaining, and her mother njoyed singing along with his playing, often joined by all the children who had sweet and nice voices. But it was nothing close to the talent Kaylee showed even at the youngest age - she practically learned how to sing before she learned how to talk. By the age of three, she was a small performer during family reunions, aunts and uncles always asking her to sing a little song for them. She had no problem with it either - she simply loved performing, in front of people or just in her bedroom, whichever. Singing was the only time she felt completely and fully happy and free of being who she was.
When her parents noticed her obvious interest and talent, they decided to sign her up for lessons. Even with their large family, they were able to put each of them through whichever kind of class they wanted, from figure iceskating to horseback ridding, along with hockey and baseball. Each year, she improved, until it got to the point that her singing teacher told her parents they should consider trying out for auditions for little shows and such, saying that she could easily have a carreer if she wanted to and tried to. However, on her side, Kaylee wasn't doing too well. With school and her classmates, her cheerfullness and vitality was going down each day, and when he parents mentionned what her teacher had told her, instead of being happy about it, she practically freaked out and ran up to her bedroom in tears. It took a while but when her parents got out of her what was the problem, they were horrified about to hear about what their daughter was going through each day at school because of the other children's cruelty and closedness of mind.
They went straight to the school's principal, and it took a while for them to convince her that this kind of behavior had to stop and that they had to make the children realize the consequences of their words. Kaylee was taken to therapy and it took her a few years, but she soon realized that what she was worth didn't depend on what the others told her. She got better and better every week until she was able to leave therapy and go on her own, a completely changed person, no more ashamed of herself. That was when her ambitions grew even more - she started looking for way to become even better, to improve her talent, to learn more. That was when she found out about Gordon Parks' Academy for the Arts. Luckily for her, along with the money they already had, her parents had put some money into saving accounts for each of their kids - 5 dollars every week since they'd been born. It was enough to pay the fees for the first three years, and Kaylee intends to manage to pay for the fourth one as well. Her first year at the academy was a revelation to her and she simply adored it from beginning to end. She intends to enjoy the rest of her highschool years just as much and she's had a good start until now.
