PERSONALITY
Emmy is more on the quiet side, a sweet girl with a good sense of humor that prefers being in the shadows, unless she's on stage. She's not shy in any way, and she's a very friendly girl who will go toward other people in a situation where she's put in among group of strangers. She just doesn't need to be with large groups to enjoy herself, and she likes her peace and quiet. She's got a very calm demeanor, and it takes a lot to get her angry or upset at anything or anyone. She'll be the type to rationalize anything before she gets to a conclusion, and she very rarely does anything in a brash or uncalculated fashion. She prefers thinking before jumping, and she's always the careful one who won't let anyone ride in her car unless their seatbelt is fastened, and won't go for a ride on her bike without a helmet. She may seem boring to some people, but she's just not the crazy type - unless, of course, she gets pulled into something by her sister.
She's a very compromising type of person, and she'll try anything once as long as she doesn't feel like it's putting her life in danger - in which case, she'll back out and do everything to keep Georgia from doing it too, sometimes successfully. She doesn't mind being bossed around a little, but the only person who's allowed to do it is her sister - she won't take orders from anyone else, and if someone asks her to do something, they better say please and thank you. She's a bit of a neat freak, and likes to keep her things clean and organized, from her class folders to her bedroom closet. She needs to know where everything is, and not being able to find something she's looking for is one of the things that will make her lose her patience fast. She can be a bit quick to form opinions about other people, though she's not too proud to admit when she's been wrong about someone, but it'll take some convincing to show her otherwise as she can be stubborn about her opinions. She's a very bright girl in a bookish way, which is good because she's a bit of a bookworm to start with.
She tries her best to be active, though she's not much for traditional team sports. She likes rollerblading, going on bike rides or jogging once in a while. She usually signs up for things like yoga or zumba classes, and she does her best to stay in shape and keep healthy. She generally stays away from anyone who smokes, and she's not that big a fan of alcohol either - as for drugs, they're a definite no go in her book, and her opinion of someone tends to drastically drop if she learns they do any of that stuff. She's a religiously inclined person, and enjoys going to church every Sunday though she's not judgemental toward people who see things differently than she does - and even she takes a few things in the Bible with a grain of salt.
She's never really had a steady boyfriend before, though she has dated a couple of guys in the past few years. She's also started noticing a different type of attraction that she feels toward other girls, though thus far she's mostly just tried pushing it away, not ready to deal with anything like that, and figuring that her attraction to boys is stronger anyway, so there's no point in focusing on anything that'll distract her from that. She has about zero experience when it comes to sex as she doesn't believe in sleeping with someone until she's actually in love with them.
APPEARANCE
Emmy looks about just as much like her sister as she ever did, with the exception of their hair. She keeps hers its natural red color whereas Georgia dyes hers blonde. Everything else is almost impossible to tell apart. Her eyes are wide and framed with long curly lashes, a bright shade of blue that looks green in some lights, and her complexion is that of a true redhead, pale and freckly that burns in the sun. She generally keeps her hair in its wavy-curly state, though sometimes takes the time to straighten it, or lets Georgia do it when she feels like it. She has a very defined mouth with just plump enough lips, a nice, straight white smile that has never seen cavities or braces, and slightly arched eyebrows.
Her fashion style is more understated than her sister's, as she likes to wear slightly more feminine attire. She owns a few pairs of jeans, but she mostly enjoys wearing flowy skirts, or pairs long shirts with leggings. She loves to accessorize, but not too over the top - if she's wearing a necklace, she won't wear anything in her hair, and if she's wearing a bracelet, she'll avoid rings on that hand. She's not obsessed with either brands or fashion, but she's got a natural good taste that generally keeps her from making any fashion faux pas. As for makeup, she doesn't use much of it on a daily basis, but she does enjoy it when an occasion calls for it. She mostly just makes sure to take good care of her skin and body, and doesn't overly worry about embellishing it as she feels it look fine in its natural state.
HISTORY
Craig Irving was five when his father's company transfered him from Glasgow, Scotland, to New York City. The little family settled across the Hudson River, in Maplewood, New Jersey, and that's where little Craig met the girl next door (or more like across the street) who would later become his wife, Rosemary West. They were introduced to one another when Rosemary's mother came over to welcome the newcomers to the neighborhood, and later that day, Craig told his mother that he was gonna marry the sweet redheaded girl. Of course she laughed it off then - but sure enough, they soon grew to become friends, and then kept on growing even closer. They started dating in high school, and Craig proposed halfway through college, celebrating their marriage a year later and moving into a nice little starter house a couple of blocks away from their childhood homes. They agreed to wait until Craig graduated college and found a steady teaching job before trying for kids, as Rosemary went on to get a job at a local bakery. Sure enough, it was another two years until she got pregnant, and the happy couple started planning for the little newcomer's arrival with a mix of eagerness and nervousness.
What they did not expect was that the little newcomer would bring a friend along, until the ultrasound showed two babies rather than one. The nervousness grew then, but they made sure to get everything ready in spite of their surprise, and welcomed their two baby girls to the world on the 23rd of September, 1994. Rosemary's birth plan was a little compromised, as one of the baby's foot got in the way of the other, blocking the way and forcing an emergency c-section. And so even though she was originally second in line to get born, Georgia Lynn forced her way out first before leaving room for Emily Jodi to come. Their birth would be representative of their later personalities, Georgia moving a lot more air whereas Emmy was the quiet one. She hardly ever cried and soon slept through the night, whereas her twin sister was more like a little tornado. In spite of their differences, they grew extremely close, and Emmy never minded being 'bossed around', doing many a things with her sister that she would have never dared to even think up on her own. She didn't mind, though - she enjoyed spending time with her louder sister, and though she had a calmer demeanor, didn't mean she wasn't one for fun and laughing.
They pulled several pranks on people as they grew older, as they were as identical as two peas in a pod and even their parents sometimes had a hard time telling them apart. They were just about inseparable, both of them throwing a fit in their own ways when their third grade teacher suggested it might be good for them to be in different classes at school so that they might get used to being separated. Their parents soon agreed that maybe it wasn't the best idea, and that it wasn't a bad thing for the two little girls to be so close. By that point, they'd had two more children, Simon who was five years younger than the girls, and Tamara (Tammy) after five more years. Their family was a close knit group and they didn't think trying to put more of a gap between any of their children was a good idea, especially as Emily and Georgia were both good at developping on their own, two very bright girls with distinctive personalities and their own special sets of talents. Emmy herself had started singing very young, developping that skill before she even knew how to speak properly, and as years went by, her voice got stronger and steadier to the point where she stood out among other children her age for her skill. Her parents asked her if she would like to go through singing lessons, and signed her up as soon as she agreed to it. They then went through the process of finding something for Georgia to do so she wouldn't be left out, finding that her creativity found a better outlet through more technological means.
Soon, Emmy's dream of becoming a professional singer and Georgia's ambitions of being a famous filmmaker pushed the Irvings to look for a better way for their talents to evolve in an environment that would be ideal for it. They found several places to send Emmy, and quite a few where Georgia might go as well. The issue seemed to be finding one that would allow both girls to stay together, and they started to fear their daughters might have to pick between bettering themselves on their hoped for career paths - while getting a proper education so to have enough options for a back up plan - and staying together. Emmy herself was very unwilling to go anywhere her sister wouldn't be, but at the same time didn't want to keep Georgia back from anything that would help her to get where she wanted - there was no doubt in her mind that if her sister wanted to be a film maker, that's what she would be. She decided she would leave it up to Georgia when their parents came to them and told them they had found what might just be the right place. During spring break of their seventh grade, they took a trip to Kansas City and went to visit Gordon Parks' Academy for the Arts, meeting with teachers and visiting the facilities as well as the surrounding areas before heading back home with the knowledge that the Academy was the one place to apply to.
Of course, it would take a lot of hard work, and the girls knew that - they helped one another putting their talent project together, and studied together to make sure their grades would be adequate for the school they were hoping for. They sent their application at the same time and spent the next few weeks anxiously waiting for the responses. The day came, but was much less exciting than expected as they only received one letter - a letter of acceptance for Georgia. The next few days were rough for Emmy, but she made sure her sister wouldn't even think of not going, regardless of what happened to her. Thankfully, it wouldn't turn out to be a problem, as a week later, the second letter of acceptance came, and both girls started making plans and preparations for their freshman year away from home, but not from one another.
