Bree sighed lightly as she got home late from work, tip toeing her way into the apartment as she didn't want to wake up Kaiden. She knew he had school early the next morning, or at least she thought he did, and though he usually tried to wait up for her when she worked a later shift, today had been really ridiculous. She'd gotten up at five, and in the half hour she'd taken to get ready to leave for college, she'd managed to bump her middle toe hard enough against a chair leg that she thought it might actually be broken, and she'd burned her thumb while pouring herself a cup of coffee. School had been brutal, especially her gym class - and that was saying something because she was in great shape, and she usually loved gym class - and then once she'd gotten out of her last class of the day, she'd headed straight to work for her late shift. She was scheduled to get out at 10:30, but a customer had stormed in in a fury, claiming they had cheated him and yelling all sorts of obsenities, and she'd had to call security on him when he'd tried to throw a punch at her, which clearly hadn't helped her get out on time.
The one good thing that had come out of it was the fact that her boss had then told her to take the day off tomorrow, which meant she would be able to just stay at home and relax as she didn't have any classes on Wednesdays, and since Kaiden usually only had one class in the morning, they'd get to spend some time together. Right now though, her only concern was to get herself washed up and then get into bed so that she could sleep off a very unpleasant and exhausting day. She didn't bother turning the light on as she walked inside the living room, placing her keys on the coffee table and carelessly dropping her purse behind the couch before going back to hang her coat in the closet. She was trying to figure out if she'd be able to take a shower without waking up Kaiden as she walked over to the kitchen to grab a quick snack, but clearly the day wasn't done being sucky - and granted, she'd probably deserved that one - and she tripped over her purse, letting out a light yelp as she fell on the floor, trying to catch herself with her hands out of reflex. She rolled on her back after a few seconds, sighing and trying to decide if it was even worth getting up at this point. Maybe it would be better for everyone if she stayed on the floor until tomorrow morning.
