Lila's past half a year had been completely crazy, but as she finished unpacking the last box into her new apartment she felt a bit better. It'd been hard enough having to finish her classes at the Academy via the internet, flying back just for final exams and not even being present at her own graduation ceremony. Hell, coming up with the money had been half the problem, but she'd hit her mother and her new husband up for it - which had been the first time that she'd talked to the woman since she'd walked out on them. It had been all that she could do, given that she hadn't ever done anything else for her. It'd been pretty miserable though, trying to help nurse her father back to health after the stroke that he'd had. Luckily he had disability insurance so the bills got paid, but as soon as summer came around, she did take up a part time job and worked almost all summer to help out and set money aside. When Fall came around, she wasn't sure that she'd be able to leave Alaska and had started taking online classes, but by October her father had made a full recovery and kicked her out.
She'd actually been really thankful for it too, because the only reason that she'd stayed was because she loved her father and wanted to take care of him as much as possible. However, she really hated Fairbanks, hated the weather most especially and she knew it wasn't where she wanted to spend the rest of her life. Hell, she didn't know where she wanted to spend the rest of her life yet, but she figured that heading back to KC for college would give her time to figure it out. She'd be starting winter semester at The Art Institutes International campus in KC, which worked out well since that was where she was currently taking her online classes for the fall semester. Plopping down on her couch, she turned on her television and sat back, wondering if maybe she should try and do something tonight. Since she'd gotten back into the city she hadn't really tracked anyone down or anything of the sorts, not really having felt like being social with anyone. Sure, she'd kept contact with some people while she was gone, but now that she was back.. well, she was feeling anti-social.
