Joel walked outside after having his conversation with Cara excited to be able to spend some time with one of his best friends. He was glad that she seemed to have gotten over whatever it was that had been wrong with her before the Homecoming dance, something that he was glad about because he really didn't like her - or anyone else for that matter - being mad at him, especially when he wasn't even aware of what she was mad at him for. For a minute he'd considered that possibly she'd been upset because she wanted him to ask someone else, maybe even her. But that was pretty much crazy talk because they were just good friends. He was actually leaning more toward the fact that maybe she was just in a bad mood or maybe she'd wanted him to ask one of her friends or something, he thought for a minute but couldn't come up with anyone that she might have mentioned even discreetly in the past. Oh well, he figured that it was probably best just to let things be as they were and not bring up the subject again. He didn't want her to be upset all over again.
He sat down on one of the many benches that were scattered around the grounds and took a good look around. He didn't see his blonde friend yet but knew that she would show up soon enough. For now he was just going to sit back and try and figure out what everything at the Homecoming dance had meant. Or more like what happened after Homecoming. He still had no clue where things were going to go with Cassandra in all honesty, though he wasn't sure that things were going to go anywhere. It might have just been what it was and that'd be in the end. He couldn't say that he'd be overly disappointed if that was the case because although she was a very attractive individual he didn't actually think that much else would come out of the two of them. They were just two different types of people, he was sure that they'd probably still be able to talk and such from time to time when they wanted but he wasn't expecting anything more than that. He was pretty sure that she probably felt the same way about it too and that things would be able to go down without a problem. He didn't regret anything that had happened, but he just wasn't sure that he wanted it to happen again.
