Let's dance!

Walking to the dance studio was really something that Miss Cara Nicole enjoyed. Just the whole surroundings were beautiful, and it was always nice to say hello to people that were in the hallway. Also, it was a great time for just thinking about nothing before she had to get into dance mode. It only takes her a few seconds to go from ditzy blonde to a twirling princess, but it is still nice to think about her mom, dad, her dog, what people are doing, and what she'd be doing later. As she was walking, she threw her hair into a high ponytail. Her pink dance shorts went perfect with her white tank top that says, "Let's Dance!" On the back was her name, "Miss Cara Donovan". It was the shirt that she got last year working in her Summer Camp. It was great getting to remember those fun times that she got to have. She got to meet so many amazing people. Plus, it came in handy because she got some great new ideas and skills. Also, she personally thinks that it made her a better person. Getting the chance to work with younger children blew her mind away. The way that they clung to her every word made her heart sore. Being able to teach someone younger was just something Cara knew she wanted to do when she was older. Hell, maybe she'd even get a job working at a place like GPA. Wouldn't that be nice...
The lights in the dance studio were off, so Cara knew that no one else could be in there. She flicked the switch, and noticed that the floor had just been clean. She smiled sweetly. That meant that it would be perfect for doing turns and leaps. She walked over to the couch, and placed her dance bag on the floor. She then began to take out her pointe shoes, and placed them over her feet. She was about to put her dancing socks on over them, but thought that because the floor was so clean, there was no need to. But, as she stood up, she couldn't help but laugh. Her pretty pink sunglasses were still covering her bright blue eyes. That was just something she was used to though. The beautiful southern sun was always in her mind, and sort of missed it here. In North Carolina, she got to wear her sunglasses all year round. Not that she didn't here too, though. She always had them on her. Even if they weren't on her face, they were in her purse, or in her pocket. These ones were brand new. She had just gotten them two days before they left for GPA. She was so shocked that they hadn't broke, yet. Every other year, she tended to break her new sunglasses within the first four hours! Maybe she just hadn't done anything yet to cause them to break. Last year she had thrown them at a wall because she had got so mad at her mother for forgetting to put the picture of Ballet in one of her many bags.
Walking on her toes, Cara went over to the huge CD player. Today, she was going to do some ballet with her pointe shoes. Normally, she does jazz, but today the floor was just so perfect for ballet spins. She tried to remember what number on the CD she wanted. She knew it wasn't numbers one, two, three, or four, because those were all jazz songs. Numbers five, six, and seven were tap songs, she knew that, too. Numbers eight, nine, ten, and eleven were hip-hop...so she figured that numbers twelve, thirteen, fourteen, and fifteen had to be ballet songs. She put on number twelve, and Edwin McCain's "I'll Be" filled the whole dance room. Cara smiled to herself. She loved this song.
The strands in your eyes that color them wonderful
Stop me and steal my breath
And emeralds from mountains thrust toward the sky
Never revealing their depth
And tell me that we belong together
Dress it up with the toppings of love
I'll be captivated, I'll hang from your lips
Instead of the gallows of heartache that hang from above
And I'll be your cryin' shoulder
I'll be love's suicide
And I'll be better when I'm older
I'll be the greatest fan of your life
Cara loved the way the floor was so clean and smooth. It made it so much easier to do her favorite turns. Also, this song was a great one to do ballet moves to. It just perfectly slow. It went at a great pace. She did a back pique turn and ended in second. Today, was a great day for dancing.
