Kimberly wasn’t in the best of mood as she headed to the Vocal rooms, needing to do something to get rid of her anger, and singing usually worked pretty well. Today had just been the worst day. Not only was she now forced to sit next to Nathaniel Dempsey every single English Literature class, but now she also had to work with him because the stupid professor had decided to pair them up, and she was almost sure it wouldn’t be the last time. She wouldn’t even be surprised if the old man had done it on purpose with the intention of them killing one another, because then he’d have two students less in his classroom. And well, it was sure they would end up fighting sooner or later. They never got along. It was just an impossibility for them to even be civil to one another, let alone work together! But of course, she couldn’t deny that he was a great writer, and that would surely improve their grade some. She was good enough at finding great ideas for most of her projects, but she never quite knew how to put the words around so that it looked good and was easy to read.
Letting out a frustrated sigh, she kept walking through the corridor, wondering if it’d feel good to be able to talk to someone about it, but quickly shaking the thought away. She didn’t really have any friends, save for a precious few to whom she didn't really feel like talking to right now, and she didn’t want any either. She was happy on her own, even if that meant she could never ask for advices or rant about how upset she was and stuff like that. Music was there for her, she didn’t need anybody. Whenever she was angry, she’d just pick up her guitar and sing a song, and the feeling would pass soon enough. And when she was sad, it was the same. Singing helped her keep her emotions in check, it kept her from going insane, from bursting because of the overload of emotions she kept inside. It’d helped her go through the unwanted and lonely pregnancy, it’d helped her get over giving away the baby without even a glance at it, and now it helped her whenever she felt the need to talking to her mother. She sometimes wished she could, but she never knew how to start the conversation, and the last time they’d actually spoken went back to a while ago. She’d done everything to push her mother away and now… well, it was already done anyway.
After considering for a second time to give Eliana a call, she'd decided not to bother her with that and gone by her dorm room to pick up her guitar before making her way back to the Academy, heading over to the section where all the Vocal rooms were, searching for one of the recording rooms and wondering if there'd be anyone in there - she hoped not, because she felt like being on her own. Luckily enough, she did manage to find a spot where she'd be able to practice on her own and entered the room with a small sigh, closing it behind and wrinkling her nose once more at the window panel that could let just anyone see inside, but she figured it was a good way of knowing if the room was occupied or not. Shrugging lightly, she took her guitar out of the case and tuned it before heading to the soundboard, turning it on and adjusting a few things, bringing a stool in the middle of the room where the mics were placed. Sitting down, she adjusted her guitar strap and placed the guitar on her knees before taking the headphones, closing her eyes as she started playing and singing.
