It was only November, and Kaiden found himself already wishing it was June again. Not because he wanted to go back to Florida, he really wished he could just live at the school all summer, too, but because he misses the warm weather. He doesn't always like having to wear sweatshirts and long pants. Before even went to GPA, he only owned one sweatshirt. One. When he realized where he would be going to school, his grandfather went out and bought him seven more different ones. Plus, it was about nine o'clock at night, so that made it pretty cold as well. It had been even worse for him, because he's had a pretty bad cold for the past week. He found that he couldn't do much with it, and the teachers didn't want him around the other students getting them all sick. He was much better now, though. When Kaiden got to his dorm building, he started to look for his room key. He couldn't find it anywhere. After a moment of thinking, he remembered that it was in his back pocket. He grabbed it, and walked into his dorm building. Thankfully, the heat was on in the building. He never thought November was this cold before.
When he finally got to his dorm, he was pretty tired. It was a sort of long day for him. He forgot his math homework on his bed, so he got in trouble for that, he didn't study for his English test, and he got yelled at in Spanish for not knowing all of the verbs she wanted him to know. What an epic fail. Before he tried his key, he turned the door knob. Hmm, he thought Joel would be back by now. He hadn't even really talked to him since school started. He felt bad for that. Joel was a good friend of his, and he was glad he got to room with him and not someone like Andrew Preston. He would have hated that. Using his key, Kaiden unlocked the door and walked into his dorm. It was just like they left it. Even his math homework was sitting on his bed with a note saying 'Do Not Forget!' A lot of good that note did. He threw his backpack on the floor, and went over to his computer. He signed onto his IM this morning before he left and just left an away message up. He didn't have any IMs, so he went to check his email. He had three different emails from home. The first one was just a hello from his grandmother. He quickly typed a reply back, and read the next one. This one was from his mother, and that was just a hello, too. He just deleted it, because he knew she only wrote him one because she did every month within the first week. She never responds if he sends one back to her. His third one was from Colby, one of his little sisters, saying that she missed him. He typed a reply back to her as well. Kaiden looked at the clock, and say that it was now twenty past nine. He walked over to his bed and grabbed his history notes. They have a quiz tomorrow in that class.
