Marley was practicing non stop. It seemed as though there weren’t enough hours in the day to keep up with her. It was late at night, the stage was dimly, partially lit and she was doing her lines. There was no surprise that she was here. She was wearing herself thin with the work, but she didn’t notice it. Not really. The only thing she noticed was that her clothes were getting bigger and she was becoming a bit more tired. But hard work made you tired and made you lose weight, right? Taking a break, she sat down on the stage, breathing harder than usual and holding her chest. Her head was pounding but she couldn’t take anymore Advil for another couple of hours. Reaching over next to her, she grabbed her water bottle and took a long drink, needing to tip her head back, which made it hurt even more. Sniffing, she stood back up and turned around, getting in position. The play she was practicing had a dance part in it, and she really needed to practice that. She smoothed out her boxers that had to be tied in the back and adjusted her tank top, which was pretty much the same way. Moving over to the stool that held her CD player, she pushed play and kept the volume low, beginning to do the dance movements. Thoughts were spinning through her mind as she was going over her dance moves, was Andrew. Not that Andrew wasn’t always going through her mind, he was. It was just now he really was. They’d been seeing each other off and on but with how busy schedules got and how close they were to doing the play, they haven’t been seeing as much of each other as they would like to. Her shaking caught her off balance but she stayed with it and continued dancing. Maybe they could see each other later that week. She still had something that she wanted to give him for Christmas - she was always horrible at giving gifts at the needed time - so hopefully they’d be able to see each other.
Lanz, Marley’s brother, had began going to the school as a Junior. She couldn’t believe that he was actually here and as a dancer. He had actually made it and wasn’t home with her dad. Though that did give dear ol’ dad more time to call Marley and bitch at her about different things, but at least she was with her brother. She missed him a lot. Andrew hadn’t met him yet. Hell, she didn’t think he even knew her brother was there. That would be interesting, though. Lanz was street smart and overly protective of his sister. He’d never met one of her boyfriends so that would be a scary thing. That’s probably why she hadn’t told Andrew about him yet. Her father was dealing with some things at home. Mostly things about her mother and he kept threatening awful things. One being to pull her out of school. She thought about it and realized that if he really wanted to, he could. He was her father and guardian. There would be nothing she could do to stop him. So as of now, she was practicing hard core and begging her father to let her stay. Just one more year. One more year and she would be eighteen years old and she could decide for herself what she would do. It wasn’t until she stopped thinking about all these things that she realized she had fallen some time ago on the stage and was currently just laying there. Great. No, she couldn’t be too tired to keep practicing. If she was, she’d just push through it. Standing up, she walked over to restart the song.
