Ian didn't really know how to proceed in this kind of a situation. Two days ago, he'd gone to Claire's to buy Evelynne a present. He didn't even know why, to be completely honest, because they hadn't discussed it or anything, and even though there was a certain feeling of awkwardness that hung in the air between them now, since they'd woken up together after the slumber party, there was still something between the two of them that made it seem as though maybe... well, it hadn't really been all that bad to wake up together. Even if now they felt a bit uncomfortable, it didn't matter. Though he'd truly meant to move her after she'd fallen asleep, not wanting to do so right away so not to wake her up, he just hadn't been able to stay awake himself long enough to do so. He'd woken up around five in the morning that day as people started moving around him, probably people who hadn't slept well, to see her head resting on his chest, his own arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer against him to share the body heat and the feel of comfort from the closeness. And for some reason, he hadn't wanted to move at all, he'd just felt great like that.
The second time he'd woken up though had been something else, and the awkwardness had shot up through the roof. There had been quite a few apologies, mostly on his part because it wasn't as though he could blame her for falling asleep before him, though he should have been the one to just move away and let her sleep. But there were feelings that'd started growing in him from that moment, and he just couldn't deny them anymore. He wanted to be this close to her again, to hold her in his arms, to kiss her. Each time he saw her it just grew even more intense, and he couldn't help it. He found himself thinking of her more and more often every day, she filled his thoughts increasingly. Even his Music professor had noticed, because there was a difference in his music, the way he played and composed. It was softer, sweeter even. He'd been slightly embarrassed when Ms. Adams had brought it up, asking him if he was involved with a girl in his life lately, but now at least he understood why his style was not quite the same as it'd been at first.
But now, how to give her the present? Well, technically, it was just a matter of handing her the wrapped box that held the necklace he'd gotten her - which he truly did hope she would like, because it'd be a real bummer if she didn't. But he just didn't want this to be another awkward moment between the two of them, he felt like they'd had more than enough of those already. He sighed as he walked over to her dorm room, hesitating for a few seconds on the other side of the door before knocking. He glanced down at the box he held in his hands, it wasn't really a piece of art because he'd gone pretty basic, wrapping it in golden paper and putting a white ribbon on it with a small bow, because that was pretty much the only thing he could manage to do when it came to wrapping presents. He glanced up at the door with a small smile, growing more and more nervous as he waited for her to open the door. He really hoped she was there because it'd taken him enough time to gain the courage to come over here in the first place, it would be pretty hard to get it back again.
