To say that Taylor was nervous would probably have been the understatement of the century. She could hardly even think straight anymore at this point, and she had this bad feeling that it would only be getting worse. Honestly, how pathetic was that? The whole situation was a bit pathetic actually, and she was well aware of that. She was trying to make a special event out of something that wasn't necessarily all that special, and she felt slightly embarrassed herself now as she looked around and realized that she could have taken more time preparing herself mentally instead of preparing the room. She felt like one of those silly teenagers you see in cheesy romance movies, and she could almost already see Milo laughing when he took in the appearance of the room, the mere thought of which caused her to blush. Oh, that would be awkward. But it was too late to re-do everything now, she'd already called him and he was most likely on his way. Oh well, the next time she'd know better. And hopefully, she wouldn't be quite as nervous either.
She figured that most of the time, a romantic setting was prepared by the guy, for the girl, and not the other way around. But at the same time, she knew she hadn't done all this for Milo really. It was as though she'd figured that decorating the room just a bit would make her feel better about the whole situation, but with the feeling of silliness that filled her at this point, it was obvious that it hadn't quite gone according to plan. And then, why had she chosen to do this in one of the dance rooms where they could be caught rather than comfortable in her own bed? Maybe it was the part of her that remembered what he'd told her during the Truth or Dare game, shivers running along her spine at the mere rememberance of the words he'd used, the tone of his voice, the warm breath on her cheek. Oh dear God, she was so screwed already, her knees weak with the simple thought of it. Maybe that would help, though - she knew being nervous helped nothing with the pain factor, and maybe she could just ask him to remind her slightly of just what he wanted to do...
She shook her head a bit and wrapped the long, silky robe tighter around herself, leaning back on one of the mirrors as she took in the appearance of the room. Underneath it she wore what Addie had forced her to buy, but for some reason she just hadn't been able to bring herself to be clad in only lingerie when Milo came through the door. He'd have enough of a sight to behold already, even if she wasn't quite sure he'd like it all that much. She'd gotten one of those comfy, double sized inflatable mattresses, because floor wasn't really all that comfortable, and it was covered with simple bed cloths, nothing really special on that front. But then she'd had to go crazy and get candles. Candles! Vanilla scented candles, because the scent was rather soothing to her. But maybe it wasn't really romantic, just corny. And maybe Milo didn't want romantic anyway. He was probably already confused enough as to why she'd asked him to come to the dance room on Christmas Eve, and it was almost midnight now. She sighed and shook her head, figuring she still had some time to save herself a bit of embarrassment, picking up the first candle and softly blowing it out.
