Ruth had only spent two weeks at the Academy before she fully understood what it truly entailed to be here. And truth be told - though she didn't really plan on sharing it with anybody else - she really loved it. It didn't bother her that every single prof she had gave homework the size of a short story every single class, it didn't bother her that sometimes she had to stay up til midnight and get up around five in the morning to get every single thing done. Everything was just so amazing, so unlike at home, she could understand why so many people wanted to get in here. And she could somewhat understand why Rox wanted it to be her special place away from family too, not that she'd go and tell her that - she was still annoyed with her. And then the last conversation they'd had hadn't turned out so well either. It was so like her sister to blame everything on anyone but herself, ugh. Like she was the only one who was allowed to go away for school. Ruth had as much a right to do so, and if Rox had a problem with that, then she'd have to deal with it with the two years and a half that were left before she graduated, because there was no way she was leaving.[/blockquote]
It took her two weeks still to get fully used to the pace she'd need to keep for the years to come, and so she'd stayed locked up in her dorm room pretty much all that time, unless she was eating or going to class, and even then she sometimes ate in her room. Still, now it was Sunday morning, and she'd gotten more than enough sleep to be up and awake enough to go around the city a bit, try and explore. She didn't bother with a map, figuring that if she got lost, she'd just get a cab to bring her back to school. She really wanted to walk around and see stuff without knowing in advance they'd be there anyway. It didn't take her long to get to the heart of the town - or so it seemed to be - and find a shop that actually seemed pretty promising as to a level of interest. Ruth hated most libraries that were commercialized, but little ones like this, she just adored. There was something a lot more familiar about them, something she just enjoyed to feel. She started walking along the aisles, picking up some slightly worn books from time to time and flipping a few pages, wondering if she should buy something just to buy something. Then again, she did have some books she needed to get for her English Literature class, might as well look while she was here.
