Addie was happy at the thought of going back home, even if only for a day, because admittingly she missed being in her stuff, and then she hadn't seen her kitten since January either. She usually went home at least once or twice a month, if only for a few minutes. The previous year she'd spent a lot more time there, often spending evenings with her mom, but since November, she'd been doing that less and less because her mom was always out when she got home, or she told her beforehand she'd be busy when she'd be coming along so Addie still went but never planned to spend a lot of time there. She'd spent more time with her cat than her mom this year, truth be told, and though she didn't really talk about it, it did hurt. She and her mother had grown extremely close to one another over the years after her father had left them, and even before because he'd always been on work trips - though now she preferred to refer to them as shagging trips - and she'd figured they shared something special, that they were always gonna be that close. Now she didn't know.
But she didn't want to think about it too much. She was glad Milo had agreed to coming along though, because if her mom was, yet again, not there, at least she'd have someone to hang out with for the time being. The car trip was a bit silent for cause that she was mostly lost in her thoughts - and then Milo was possibly grumpy because she hadn't agreed to letting him drive, but he could just suck it up, it was her car after all. She started getting a bit more excited though once she reached the familiar neighborhood, passing the children park that was on the corner of her street and driving up to her house, parking in front of it rather than in the driveway. "Honey we're home," she said, nudging Milo's side before turning off the engine and grabbing her bag from the backseat, getting out of the car and locking the doors after Milo was out too, walking up to the front door hurriedly, though as soon as she pushed the door open and saw the living room, she froze. What the heck? "Milo, am I drunk or do we really have the right address?" she asked.
