It'd taken quite a bit of time for Aidan to figure out what to do for Mandy's birthday. He wasn't all that great with gifts, and the fact that he wanted to make everything even more special for her didn't help his figuring out what he should get her or do for her. Sure, he had the money for mostly anything so that wasn't the problem, but he knew the value of a present didn't always come from its price. Though he'd still ended up spending quite a bit of money on her main present, but that was because he hadn't wanted to get her a fake ring or anything of the sort. Overall, it wasn't really that bad, and well... if she felt bad because of it, there was no need for her to know they were real diamonds. Still, it wasn't as if he'd gotten her any random ring. It was a promise ring, and he knew that held a stronger meaning than any other piece of jewelry would - well, until he brought along an engagement ring, but they were a bit young for that. At least, she was. Still, for him it was all the same - both were a promise of a lifetime shared together, and he planned on keeping it.
He'd already reserved a booth at the Skies restaurant - one that was by a window, obviously, because there was no point in going to that place if you didn't have a nice view - and he'd tried to make sure it'd be one where they wouldn't be disturbed. He'd stopped by earlier during the day to make sure everything would be in order - it'd cost him extra, because he wanted some things to be waiting for her already on the table when they got there - a bouquet of pink and white daisies, and then the second part of her present in a box. He'd gone to Addie for help on that one, because he really wasn't artistic, and he'd gone ahead and bought a scrapbooking album, but he absolutely had no clue of how to arrange anything. Then he'd gotten Roxanne's help by asking her to get some of her family pictures for him, and then some of those of her with her friends - even if he hadn't been that happy about including some of Via in there - and some of the two of them too. Though he'd probably have to stop her before she got to the last few pages, because those they'd have to discuss a bit. He glanced down at his watch to make sure he wasn't late as he walked up to her dorm room, knocking lightly.
