Ayla didn't really know what she was in the mood for as she walked around the streets of Kansas City, though she did know she wanted to be outside. Well, to a certain extent of course - she wouldn't mind entering one of those stores and shopping for a bit, but the main point was that she didn't feel like being copped up inside four walls in her dorm room, doing homework or something equally boring. There was just something in her itching to get out, and she figured that maybe it was spring. Finally, the snow had pretty much all melted and the warm weather was coming back! Not that it got overly cold in winter in KC, but being from San Francisco, she usually wore a light jacket with a scarf and maybe a hat sometimes when it got colder during the winter. She couldn't remember many of her childhood Christmases being white for that matter. But still, she was happy to be out today, and the weather seemed just perfect for that too. She was actually wearing new clothes that she felt pretty good about, and all of that put in together put her in a good mood.
That was, until it started raining. She was still walking and wondering where she ought to go to, sometimes taking the time to smooth lightly the front of her faded pink shirt or tug at the pocket of her jeans, when the first raindrop landed squarely on her forehead. And next thing she knew, she was practically completely soaked to the bone, rain coming down in a shower in less than a few seconds, as if it'd waited until the perfect moment to spring out and attack her. So much for a great day and good weather and being in a good mood! Huffily, she swiftly rushed inside the nearest store she could see, wipping the water from the face and letting out a light exasperated sigh as she glanced in the glass panel next to the door to see just how bad she looked. Well, it didn't go quite as far as calling herself a drowned cat, but the good looks were surely gone in her opinion. But then, she figured that she might as well take that time to do a bit of shopping, and soon she started looking around, trying to ignore the annoying sensation of wet clothes on her skin.
