Fear wasn't something Cassandra often allowed herself to feel, like many other emotions. She didn't like feelings that might make her weak or vulnerable toward other people. So mostly she just went about and ignored a lot of the things she might be stuck feeling, things that could make her cry or be upset, and even sometimes things that might have made her happy. But then, it wasn't as though she cared that much about being happy, she was used not to. Indifference was probably the emotion she'd felt the most ever since her birth, and she was pretty much used to it right now. She didn't care about many things, nor people. The only person she truly did care for was her brother, and even then she kept it deep down inside. Sure, she had friends, some of which were actually real friends she enjoyed spending time with, though not that many and she didn't care either, but in the end, she didn't want to get attached to someone who'd just end up going out of her life as fast as they'd come into it. There was just no point in it, unless of course you liked getting hurt.
But as she paced the school grounds, waiting for Owen to show up, she could help it - she was scared. More than that even, and she was almost freaking out, and she couldn't keep it in. And then she just kept telling herself it probably was nothing, just a series of very bad coincidence that were meant to creep her out a bit, but in the end it would all be alright. Because she just couldn't be pregnant, the lateness of her periods was probably just... stress or something. And then just because Owen had been dumb enough not to put on a condom, didn't mean her life would be ruined because of it. Though, if he had indeed knocked her up, she sure as hell wouldn't be dealing with it on her own. Because in spite of her being a heartless bitch at times, abortion was just not something she'd be going through. Well obviously she wouldn't keep the kid, but she figured adoption would have to do. But then that was crazy - she didn't have to be thinking of that or planning anything, she wasn't pregnant. She just needed to take the test to be completely sure she wasn't.
