Marley was back. The old Marley. It seemed like this one had been gone for a long time and a strange being had taken over her body. It’s like she was Host to someone she’d never known before. All she knew was that she hadn’t been herself for a long time. All she’d been doing was school work. Different plays and whatnot. It was all school, sleep, school, sleep. There was nothing other than that. For a while she hadn’t been eating. Then after a fight with her brother, she’d been thrown into a panic attack which resulted in her having to be put into the hospital. From there, there was therapy and pills. Someone would watch her eat and then stay with her until the food was fully in her system. It was a nightmare. Between that and school, she really didn’t have time for anything else. The only thing she did have time for was getting lost in her thoughts. She tended to do that a lot recently. Though it seemed like any thought she had lead back to Andrew. How pathetic was that? He’d broken up with her and moved on really fast. She should have been able to get over him by now. But truth was, she wasn’t interested in anyone else. There were a few guys that liked her around the school, but she didn’t really care. Not at all. It wasn’t like she was stalking Andrew or anything. That wasn’t it because she didn’t even see him really. She’d passed him in the halls a few times but that was it. It was just that she still had feelings for him. It didn’t control her, but they were there in the back of her head and though he had found someone else, she hadn’t.
As she walked into Re:Verse, old memories flooded back to her. This was her favorite place to go and not many people went with her. The only person that seemed to like going there with her was Elijah. In fact, that was who she was with right now. Sighing, a smile crept on her face and she nudged Elijah just for something to do. They’d usually do that. Catch each other off balance. Most people considered it obnoxious, but he usually just gave it right back. They were like siblings with how playful they were. Well, long lost siblings. She was kind of horrible right about now with how she’d ignored him for this long. She didn’t even know if he considered her like a sister anymore. She’d been away for so long, she didn’t even think she had any friends left. Not like she’d blame them. When you ignore a person for so long, the tend to not want to be hurt anymore and they move on. It was a miracle that Elijah still wanted to hang out with her, let alone the day they had just started talking again. Marley pursed her lips and looked around for a place to sit. The one that was by her favorite wall was open and she hurried off to sit down there. This wall had all sorts of abstract art on it and she could sit there all day just staring at it. As she was handed a menu, she looked it over. Now this was going to be the test. This would be the first time since therapy and shit that she would eat food with someone else that hadn’t been watching her like a hawk. Yes, this would be interesting and different but God, did it feel good to be back.
