Owen was sitting in his dorm room alone, guitar in hand as he tried to finish a song that he'd been working on. He did know how to play and had learned when he was quite small, because his dad played the guitar as well. He knew that he was nowhere good enough to get into the school on any sort of musical talent but he knew that he wasn't horrible at it either. Really playing was just something that he liked to do in the rare amount of free time that he got around the school. Today he'd just had something stuck in his head from the moment that he'd woken up and felt the need to actually put it down on paper so that it would get out of his head. He was a bit surprised at the way that he came together, a bit different than he'd expected it to. Most of the time when he had a beat or a part of a song idea stuck in his head they didn't come together so nicely. Yet another reason why he had never considered doing anything musical around here, but this song was one that he actually liked. And he liked it a lot actually.
And he'd even finished it to an extent, made it sound nice and like an actual legit song. He played it through another time seeing if there was anything about it that he'd change and found that there wasn't anything there that he'd want to do differently. Things seemed good enough as they were and he liked that. He was in his own little slightly musical world when he heard a knock on the door and remembered that he'd invited Cass over today, but it couldn't be time for her to be here yet, could it? He glanced at the clock and saw that it was the time that he'd asked her to come over today. Wow, time flew when you got distracted. It was amazing to him how much time he'd just spent on the song to finish it and get it right, but it hadn't seemed like much time at all. He set the guitar and words written down aside and stood up, making his way over to the door and opening it. He grinned a bit as he saw his girlfriend on the other side. "Hey," he said, giving her a light peck on the lips before moving aside to let her into the room.
