Okay, so even though Drake had formally forgiven her, it hadn’t stopped her from feeling overwhelmingly guilty about the entire ordeal. And since then she’d been thinking of ways to actually make it up to him. She hadn’t actually come up with anything good enough and she didn’t have a lot of money to take him out somewhere. Though she’d come up with the idea for going to the park because it was supposed to be a beautiful day today and because those had been so scarce as of late, she couldn’t think of a better way to spend her day other than with Drake. And since Drake had already agreed to going the night before when she’d texted him, it was already a done deal. She figured she shouldn’t waste the day just by going to the park, so she’d gone to the store and brought bread and the type of PB and J that came in the same jar. And made a small picnic with sandwiches, bottle milk and a couple of fruits and veggies. And with the cute, decorated picnic basket she set off with her non-conventional-batman throw.
When she made it to the park, she began setting up by the pond, spreading out her blanket and propping her basket on top of it as he smooth down her summer dress and her hair. She felt nervous, for one reason or another, and it was so out of character for her. It wasn’t even like the whole thing was a date, she was merely making up for her deceit and sharing her interests with him. She liked being outdoors at times, when it was a really nice day out and the sun was shining just enough to warm but not overheat. There was a gentle breeze – a bit on the chilly side – that danced through the fabric of her dress and fanned it out just a bit, not enough to make her worry. She plopped down once she was done, looking at her watch and lying back on the blanket, crossing her legs and closing her eyes as she waited for Drake to show. She wouldn’t necessarily mind if he was late and besides he still had a bit of time left. And she wasn’t exactly worried about being stood up, it didn’t seem like him…not that it was a date or anything of the sort. Though she couldn’t help but wonder if she wanted it to be.
