Violet was pretty excited about Christmas. She was glad to be home, and glad to know that Tyler and Holly would be coming over too, though they'd apparently planned a trip of their own to Las Vegas and so would be leaving before New Years, but she didn't really mind. She was happy that she'd get to spend some time with her big brother and his girlfriend, even if it wouldn't be for very long. Though it wasn't as though she never ever saw them, but still, they both went to College and she figured they were probably too busy to hang out with her and Rose all the time, though Tyler always made time for them when they asked. Then again, she knew Rose wasn't too fond of Holly though she couldn't really figure out why. It was a bit ironic too, considering their personalities, she'd have figured that she'd be less likely to get along with the blunt, slightly sarcastic older girl, but Holly was also a really nice girl and she enjoyed spending time with her, whereas Rose always said things that had a double meaning to them whenever in Holly's presence, though Tyler seemed blissfully unaware of his younger sister's distaste for his girlfriend.
But for the first time in a few months Vi felt entirely happy. She refused to let herself think that it was because of Gabe in any way, though they were talking more and more often lately and at times she couldn't help but wonder what the heck she was doing. She hadn't told anyone, because she was scared of what they would say - it was the first time in her life she kept something from Rose and it really hurt her, but she knew that Rose wouldn't... well, as unhappy as it made her to think that, she didn't think Rose would understand. Nor would Brooke, or Valerie. Maybe she could talk with Elina, she'd understand, or if she didn't, at least she wouldn't judge her. Maybe she'd be worried but still... or maybe she could talk with Holly. She sighed, brushing that thought aside - she was only talking to him again, there was nothing big to it, and so she should probably not be thinking of him at all, not right now. The buzzer of the oven brought her back to reality and she hurried to pull out the gingerbread cookies she'd started baking - the entire house felt like Christmas, with decorations practically everywhere - Rose was probably off hanging decorations on the Christmas tree, her parents were doing a bit of last minute shopping and Tyler would be arriving today with Holly. Everything felt just perfect.
