It wasn’t like this had been the first time he was teaching someone to swim. He’d taken swimming lessons ever since the age of four, so although he wasn’t technically qualified to play life guard, he was certainly well equipped with the knowledge of how to do so. And though he doubted anyone would really trust that bit of information, and trust him with their life, Roxanne was the exception to that thought. He trusted her with his life, and he was almost certain, if not completely, that she trusted him with hers. It was only natural that she would by now. They’d only been dating forever now and declared themselves soulmates; he had to admit he’d be a bit disappointed in her if she didn’t trust him. But he could understand that she’d find it hard to feel comfortable with this idea. But he figured doing this at night would be a lot easier and safer than doing it during the day when there were bound to be more people.
“Alright babe, so…” he began as he held her hand and pulled her along, towels draped over his shoulder as he tried calming her down. “If you’re drowning, I’ll be there to pull you back up.”” He grinned. Okay, so he had to have his fun. “In the event that I’m elsewhere, maybe working on my pushups or trying to remember how to float in water… I’m sorry and I’ll totally give you a good funeral. It’ll be the blowout funeral of the century.I’ll make sure that hot guy from that movie you love is there.” He smirked, pulling her closer before she could run away and looking down at her and holding onto her tightly. “Roxanne Amelia E--My Future Wife and Mother of My Kids Who I Would Never Let Drown…Like…Ever- Emer—oops I mean Ellison.” He grinned, pressing his lips to her temple. “I Elijah Rhys Your Future Husband and Complete Loser Emerson will never let anything bad happen to you.” He assured her, pecking her lips quickly. “Besides, I can’t collect your insurance yet.” He teased, pulling her along again. “I’m only here to help.”
