It was a little disappointing to Kaiden that it rarely snowed in Florida. What was Christmas without snow? Actually, even when it did snow in Florida it was always only a few flakes before it turned to rain. Plus, having lived in Florida his whole life, Kaiden was very used to not having snow around the holiday season. Like every winter break, Kaiden was forced to go home to spend Christmas and New Years with his family. Usually he did not mind New Years, his parents and Grandparents went to some huge party and he got to stay home with his sisters, and usually some random girl- but thankfully he would not have to deal with that anymore. Christmas was a whole different story, however. His whole family was together all day and it just was not something he looked forward to. Although, over the summer vacation he was kind of okay dealing with them, but Bree had a lot to do with that. He felt as if he had to be nicer to them while she was there...and then the niceness kind of just stuck for the rest of the summer.
Not that he cared about any of that right now. Plus, Christmas was yesterday so now all of that family bonding time was mostly over, except for the nonstop "Kaiden, will you play this with me?" Now, he was pretty much only concerned with the fact that Bree was coming today and he had to get ready for her. Kad wished his mother would take down some of their decorations, she went all out and it was a little embarrassing. Oh well, there was nothing he could do about it now. As Kaiden waked past the huge Christmas tree in his living room, he smiled as he saw the small gift box under it that had Bree's name on it. He still could not believe that she was coming here to spend some time with him again, Kad thought it would be amazing to get to bring in the New Year with her. After he glanced at the clock for the eleventh time that hour, he realized something- Bree was late. He had arranged for a driver to go and pick her up at the airport, and she was due at his house at least thirty minutes ago. Kaiden ran to go get his phone to call her, but before he could hit her speed dial number, he heard the doorbell ring. Smiling, he ran into the other direction to go and answer it, shoving his little sisters out of the way as he did so. Without much hesitation, Kad opened the door and wrapped his arms around her. "Hey beautiful," he said softly before lightly kissing her, "Merry Christmas."
