Something To Talk About {Connor}

By now, Addie had mostly gotten over the accident. Of course, she'd never forget it nor would she ever really be the same. She figured it made sense that something changed in you when the person you loved came so near to death, like a knowledge you hadn't had before, one you wished you'd never had to have either. The knowledge that things happen quick and that in a matter of seconds you could lose the person who means the most to you. But living with that fear every day, with paranoia and anxiety at every moment, wasn't much better either, and so she'd had to work on that. She still sometimes found herself watching Connor after waking up in the morning as he kept sleeping, as if trying to make sure he wouldn't leave or disappear right under her eyes. But it wasn't quite as frequent as it'd been during the first few weeks after it'd all happened. She could sleep well at night, even though she had these moments at times when she had trouble falling asleep before of the fear that either of them wouldn't wake up in the morning, but those were very rare.
Connor was doing much better too, especially physically speaking. It hadn't taken him too much time to get out of his wheelchair, and now he was almost done needing his crutches. If anything, sometimes he required the assistance of a cane or something like that, but he could put some weight on his leg and his limp was much less noticeable. She was currently on his way to pick him up from his therapy, hoping he would have gotten good news as to how his leg was doing as she parked her car and got out, locking the doors before making her way inside the building and taking a seat as she waited for him to come out. They had a few things to do today and she was pretty excited for them, too. They were getting married in less than a month now, and though that seemed so weird to say, at the same time it seemed perfectly normal. They still hadn't chosen where to spend their 'honeymoon', though. Of course it wouldn't be very far, nothing grand, just a bit of time to themselves in a nice hotel probably, but still she figured that if they were to do that, they might as well pick somewhere interesting.
