Roxie sighed softly as she walked out of her bedroom, hair brush in hand, having just finished blowdrying her hair after taking a quick shower. Kendall was out for the evening, hanging out with some friend of another - she hadn't really asked, not that she didn't care but she'd been in a hurry to get some of her cleaning done when she'd left the room and told her where she was headed, wanting to get it out of the way if she decided to spend the evening with Elijah or with Mandy, though she didn't have that much to tidy up since she wasn't a generally messy person. Still, she had a few articles of clothing here and there, along with some balled up pieces of paper and graded assignments she hadn't put in her folders yet - since she had two folder for each class, one for graded and done assignments, homework and essays, and one for those that she had to work on, along with her notes. She'd just gotten done with putting away what she needed to put away and putting a bit more order everywhere else, about to get into the shower next, when Elijah had called.
When he'd told her he was coming over, obviously she'd been happy, but upon his adding that they had to talk about something, the gladness had slowly faded into worry. Not worry of anything very bad, of course, she knew it wasn't like he was coming to break up with her or anything like that. But there was one subject they had only talked of in passing before, one she'd known would come back at a later date, but she hadn't wanted to think about it, nor had she wanted to remind him of it. As if she'd tried to avoid the inevitable. She wanted to be supportive and to show him how much she admired him and respected him for making that kind of a decision - she knew it was fitting for him, too. Elijah was such a caring person, always so intent on protecting those he loved, fierce when someone attacked them, and so to go in a career where one of the goals was to protect people made sense. But her thoughts went on who would protect him if he ever got in a situation of danger, and the thought was terrifying to her. She pushed that thought out of her head for now, sitting on the bed in silence as she slowly ran her brush through her hair.
