Ayla had been tossing and turning for a good two hours now, unable to fall asleep no matter how hard she tried to. She did feel tired - she'd gone to bed relatively early because she'd been yawning every two minutes and her eyes had kept closing by themselves as she brushed her teeth and her hair and changed into her pajamas. Yet, the moment the light had been turned off, she'd found herself completely unable to go to sleep. Maybe it was because there was just too much going on in her mind for her to find the peace required to fall asleep, and she figured that would be a reasonable explanation. However, figuring out why she couldn't sleep didn't do much to help find a solution to it. It was as if during the day, when she was with her friends or in class or doing homework, she could manage to rid herself from any sort of fear she felt. But alone it was something completely different. And then, with the hormones, that definitely didn't help, because she could feel herself on the brink of tears as she looked around the dark room, feeling so incredibly lonely and just lost.
It didn't take her long to get fed up with it, swiftly getting back to her feet and throwing a glance at her sleeping roommate, sighing slightly as she tiptoed toward the door, grabbing her boots and coat without bothering to get changed from her pajamas since they were warm enough anyway before leaving the room and locking the door behind her. Everything seemed to unnaturally quiet at this hour, she couldn't help but feel even more affected by the silence around her as she hurried out of her dorm building and across the school grounds, hoping Jared wouldn't be asleep yet - after all, it wasn't that late yet, only a few minutes past eleven. She shivered slightly, the cold temperature affecting her even more than usual because of the tiredness as she sneaked inside the guys' dorm building, not taking too much time to reach Jared's dorm room, though she stood outside his door without doing anything for a few minutes, debating actually knocking. After all, the chances of his roommate being there were pretty good, though it'd happened a few times since the beginning of the year that he hadn't been there. Sighing lightly, she decided herself to knock, waiting a bit anxiously for a response as her eyes began to water against her will.
