Even though his birthday was still a few weeks away, Aidan had already received a check from his parents as a birthday present. Of course, he was planning on visiting them some time around his birthday, since Sarah would most likely be going home as well around that time, but he couldn't really go at any time seeing as it was still a good two hours and fifteen minutes away or so, if not a little more, and he didn't really have time to spend away from his apartment at the moment, and neither did Mandy - because his mom had insisted that he brings his girlfriend along the next time he went home. She'd really taken a fancy to her, which definitely made him happy, and even his dad seemed to have liked her enough upon the brief time he'd spent with them at Disney World, which hadn't been a whole lot. As for Sarah, she'd just gone crazy on her and asked Aidan when he planned on officially making her part of the family whenever they ended up talking. And really, if it'd only been up to him it would have been now and here, but she was only a sophomore in high school yet, and so he'd have to wait a bit longer before being able to marry her.
So in the meantime, he just always tried to get their relationship and commitment to one another a little further, so that they could start having an actual life together, not just dating but sharing a life. They'd started on that mostly when he'd given her a key to the apartment and had pretty much asked her to move in with him, though she was technically still supposed to be rooming at the Academy, but that was beside the point. And with the money he'd received for his birthday, he'd decided to take yet another step in that direction. He knew Mandy would have gotten to his apartment sooner than he would have tonight even if he had not made a stop at a particular store, because he got out at five, but he'd made sure to call to say he'd be a little late tonight. It hadn't taken him too long either too, and it was barely past six when he parked in the parking lot of his apartment building, getting out of the car and opening the back door in which a small collie puppy rest in his cage, looking slightly affected by the car ride but overall not too traumatised. He decided to leave the car and supplies he'd gotten for it as well for now, eager to show Mandy as he gathered the small dog in his arms, thankfully walking through the front door at the same time as someone came out so that he didn't have to search for his keys or asked to be buzzed in, making his way upstairs and getting inside his apartment. "Mandy?" he called out to her, hoping she was here and figuring she was since the door was unlocked. "I got a surprise for you," he added with a slight grin.
