Awake Dreaming {Oliver}

Abby let out a soft sigh as she slowly awoke from her slumber, her body snuggling closer to the warmth of Oliver's in her state of unconsciousness, her mind becoming more and more aware of her surroundings as she frowned ever so slightly, yearning for more sleep but knowing it would be pointless to try and fall back asleep now. She could never fall asleep again once she was awake, and to be honest, she'd been dreading sleep lately. She had yet to think of everything that had happened before Christmas without shuddering, but she knew she was doing better. The mere fact that she could currently feel Oliver's strong arms wrapped around her body, protecting her even in his sleep, was proof enough of that. Last night had been the first night they'd spent together every since... well, ever since the attack. She'd pushed him away, not because she feared him in any way, but because she couldn't think of having his hands on her body after someone else had touched it. It seemed wrong, not for her, for him. But the nightmares had won over her need to stay away.
She couldn't remember a single night since then when she hadn't awoken with a start and sometimes a scream. She'd felt rather bad about it, toward Cara especially who'd had to deal with that, and last night the thought of going to sleep and seeing his face again, seeing everything and more, had just been too much for her. And she'd known the only way she could make them stop was to let Ollie in again. She couldn't help the small sleepy smile that curved her lips as she thought back on the previous night. It'd been enough to make her regret his absence over the last few weeks. And for the first night since that dark evening in December, she'd slept soundly and peacefully, dreamlessly. She moved her hand to rub at her eyes lightly, running her fingers through the tangled mess of her hair in an attempt to put a bit of order in it, yawning softly as she glanced at Oliver, watching his chest rise and fall with every breath he took. Rolling over slightly, she curled herself against him, resting her head on his chest lightly, trying not to wake him as she tugged at his arm gently to wrap it a bit tighter around her waist.
