Spear fumed as she put all her things in the car. Moving! Leaving her wonderful North Carolina home and going to a city she had never actually stepped foot in. Heck she was enrolled in a new school. The only saving grace was the dorms because she really doubted that she could manage to remain civil with her father for the time being. He hadn't even asked her what she wanted. All he had done was call a family meeting and said that they needed to pack to move in a week. She had to say goodbye to her friends and break up with her long time boyfriend. She loved him; she really did. She just didn't want to do the long distance thing. What was the point when they would never see each other aside from some amazing and unlikely miracle?
Dressed in old torn jeans that had paint stains all over the place and a Fall Out Boy tank and black hoodie jacket, Spear slept most of the ride to the airport. Once there she took her backpack and followed her father, Tempest, Ria, and Victoria through airport in silence. Once seated on the airplane, Spear buckled up and waited until they were up in the air before she grabbed out her backpack and got her sketchpad and a pencil out of it. She got comfortable and spent her time drawing and eventually taking a nap. She didn't say a word until they had gotten into Logan's car outside the airport in Kansas City.
It was then that she let her bad mood diminish a little. She had missed her brother greatly. He had only come to help them pack and get situated. He went to school with his live-in girlfriend in New Orleans. She didn't see him as much as she wanted. Despite the five year age difference, she and Logan were pretty close. She loved Sotiria, but Spear and Logan had a lot more in common. Ria was a chipper goth that seriously made Abby Sciuto off of NCIS look gloomy and hated the arts unless you counted the songs and poems she wrote. Logan was just as much into their Greek heritage as Spear was and though they he didn't like the artistic side of his blood, he shared her second love.
Logan had been the one to actually get her to ride her first horse. She had been terrified of the creatures until he promised that if she got on the Appaloosa Tempest had let him ride he would ride with her. After that she fell in love with graceful creatures. It was another reason she was so upset. Julian and Tempest had given her a horse of her own for her sixteenth birthday. She had fondly named him Zeus because she could see he thought he ruled the world. She loved him, and worried who would take of him now that she wasn't there. It wasn't fair that she had to give up everything just because her dad said so.
It had been almost an entire week since then and she was still having issues with the place. She hadn't met anyone and missed her friends greatly. She was positively homesick and it just wasn't fair that she had to deal with any of it. She could have stayed with Tempest's mother. Rain had said so, but of course, the parentals said no. So here she was in a city where she knew absolutely no one. She had to break up with her boyfriend and now she was utterly alone. She was so screwed, especially since Logan had left the day after they had arrived.
Sighing, Spear planted her butt on the warm, soft grass of Macken Park and occupied her time drawing. Art had always been her security blanket. When upset she sketched with even more fervor than she did when she was relaxed. Today, she started on a new project that had come forth from a dream she had the night before. She didn't remember anything about it aside from a single girl. She couldn't recall much about her except that she was pale with dark hair. For some reason that Spear couldn't place, the girl reminded her of the Psyche. Spear had been intrigued by the semi-blurry image the entire. So now that she was outside, she took what little she remembered and added it to paper, incorporating everything she knew about the Goddess of the Soul.
