Bretton knew that today was a big day, big for more than just one reason. There was an obvious one, the one that had him sitting in a graduation cap and gown as he listened to the speakers get up in front of all of the Seniors that were soon to be graduates once the ceremony was over. But there was another reason and that reason wasn't known by hardly anyone, in fact, only Daniel was in on the secret and that was a little in part to do with the fact that he had to get his brother to loan him some of the money that he needed. He'd offered to just give him the money flat out but he couldn't have accepted it that way, no, he refused to see it as anything less than a loan of the money because he had every intent on paying it back. He wanted to be able to say that, at the end of the day, he was the one who paid for his girlfriend's engagement ring even if he did have to work to pay back the money and it wasn't right away that he got to pay it back. But sometime, sometime soon, he would repay the money and all would be well.
As he listened to the graduation speakers speak he was in the back of his mind running through how he planned to propose to his girlfriend. Of course, he planned on waiting until everything was done and out of the way, when they were alone and he didn't exactly have something big and lengthy planned out either, just something simple. Actually, he didn't even known if he could manage anything more than simple. It was very likely that he would end up just telling her how he felt and then popping the question, not like there was much more that he could do than that. Besides, Kimmy wasn't a girl that needed a whole lot of romance in things, not that it meant that he never tried to do anything for her that was romantic but just that she didn't see it as a necessity, so long as he felt the same way about her. His thought process was pretty well interrupted as he had to get up and get his diploma and then everything else just kept coming until before he knew it he was standing in front of his brother and sister-in-law who were congratulating him.
