Leaving home had actually been a tad harder this year than it'd been the year before, but if anything, Ruth couldn't deny that she was partly glad to be leaving because it meant she wouldn't have to see Roxie every day. Not that she meant it in a way that had to do with not wanting to see her sister because they were on bad terms or anything, but the look on Roxie's face was just... well, it wasn't really that great. The only time it'd lit up was for the week Mandy had come to spend, and the coming of the mail - she'd always come out of her room at eleven sharp and sit on the living room couch where she had a view of the front yard, rushing out the moment she saw the mailman approaching. And on the days where mail didn't bring anything for her, the light that faded out was even worse. She tried not to worry too much about it though. Her boyfriend would be back some time soon and then they'd be all sickeningly happy again. In the meantime though, she figured it would do Roxie some good to be back in school, and it'd do her some good to not deal with the vibe of mild depression that followed her around.[/blockquote]
It was pretty hard to believe this was her last year already. Maybe it had to do with the fact that she'd only gotten here halfway through her Sophomore year, but still, she did wish she'd have gotten to spent more time at Gordon Parks'. She was going to miss this place, miss being able to see her friends every day and study something she loved, have classes with brilliant teachers and feel like she could be herself. She and Via had yet to talk about College, where they wanted to go, what they wanted to do. Ideally, Ruth wanted to stay near her girlfriend, maybe even move in with her if they were ready for that step by then. But for that to happen, they'd have to pick the same College, or two that were close by. She pushed those thoughts out of her mind for the time being, eager to get to her dorm room and put her things away since she knew Via had already arrived herself. The only thing left to do was find her own dorm room and text her girlfriend so she'd know where she could find her. Getting her key from the front desk, she hurried over to her room, pushing the door open, finding it unlocked and figuring that meant her roommate, whose name she hadn't looked up, was here. She closed the door behind her before taking in the sights of the room, and when she spotted her roommate sitting on her bed, a look of disbelief crossed her face before a grin spread on her lips, folding her arms slightly as she tilted her head a bit. "Well, would you look at that."
