Val was really not feeling too good today. She didn't know what she might have caught, but apparently there was a bug or a virus or something going around the school, and she'd been one of those who'd been lucky enough to get it. Thankfully, fall break was coming soon, which would give her a bit of time to rest, but until then, she'd have to try and get her school work down with a headache and a fever, not to mention slight nausea. To top it off, everything had just not being going well this week. Her laptop hadn't just crashed in the middle of an essay, it had just completely died - she'd gone to get it fixed, but there was apparently nothing to be done, except hope that she'd be able to retrieve the files off her hard drive, and so now she'd have to ask her parents if she could get some money for a new laptop, because she didn't really have any saved for it and she didn't feel like having to do all of her school work on the library computers. But then, she didn't know how her parents' finances were doing lately, with her new baby brother and all, which brought the total of kids to provide for to six.
Then there had been the small incident in the fashion design class, where she'd been working on a dress for a current assignment, and while she'd been cutting off some pieces of fabric, she'd knocked over the small bottle of fabric glue she used for some of the detailing she had done on it, which had pretty much ruined all of the work she'd done and put her back to the very first stage of measuring and cutting up stuff and blah blah blah. The thought of that only just increased her headache and she decided that now would be a good time to just relax and not do anything. But for Val, not doing anything was very, very boring, and it was actually more of a strain than something that was relaxing, but doing something that required an actual train of thought was just not an option. Sighing lightly, she changed into her pajamas, crawling into bed and curling up onto the side slightly, sighing as she tried to concentrate on just laying there without doing or thinking of anything, her foot twitching slightly as she stared at the alarm clock in front of her. She really, really wasn't one for naps.
