Aidan had been planning this evening for a while now, trying to make it as special as he possibly could, but he didn't want to fall into a cliche pattern either. Proposals were a bit tricky, it would seem. He didn't want to make it too much, but he didn't want it to be not enough either, and he wanted everything to be as perfect as his girlfriend, and possibly future fiancee, was. Which was a pretty high goal, he was well aware, but she was worth every single minute he'd spent on planning all of this. The best part about deciding to do it on their two years anniversary too was that nothing would give away his real plans until he actually went ahead and proposed. She'd think it was all because of the anniversary, and that was how he wanted it too. At the end of the day, he didn't want her to have a single clue of what was coming. Obviously, he was pretty sure that she was well aware he would propose some day, because they'd talked about being married and such in their future, but there was a difference between speculations and reality. And then, he knew that Mandy would be happy with any sort of proposal, but he didn't want to use that for a reason of slacking off either.
He'd arranged for a cab to go and pick her up at the Academy, having pre-paid for it already, and he was currently waiting for her to get to the apartment. He'd asked Addie and Connor if they could watch over Kisha for the night, because as much as he loved their dog, he didn't exactly want his proposal to get interrupted with barking or whining or something like that. He'd cleaned up the whole place, not that that'd been too long considering he wasn't very messy, and he'd moved some of the furniture so that he could arrange a table in the middle of the living room. He had thought about going to Nara, but he'd figured it wasn't really the most romantic setting for an anniversary, so instead he'd gone over to get some take out, which was already set on the table, along with a vase filled with white daisies, except for one that was pink, right in the middle - to that one, he'd attached the actual engagement ring. He wasn't exactly nervous either as he waited for her to show up, but he was extremely anxious and eager, wanting to be able to call her his fiancee as soon as he possibly could.
