Kimmy wasn't too much of a happy camper as she sat on the couch, holding the remote and switching channels with a pout on her face. It wasn't so much unhappiness over the fact that there was apparently nothing good on tv, though admittingly that did nothing to improve her mood, only adding to the growing aggravation. No, what bugged was the swollen feet, the aching back, the need to pee every five minutes and the uncontrollable mood swings and cravings that were starting to get to her, along with the fact that she had trouble sleeping comfortable and so didn't sleep much. And that went without mentioning that there was at the very least two months left of all this. That also added to the money worries - her military salary had only put so much funds in her bank account, and she wasn't in any state to work a lot, though she did still do a few hours a week, as did Brett on weekends, but with his going to college, he also needed free time for school work. Her mom and his brother and sister-in-law were trying to help as much as they could, but they didn't have unlimited funds either and neither she or Brett wanted to take too much from them.
She sighed as she finally gave in and switched over to the Food Network, having wanted to avoid it because it usually got her hungry and then she started craving something entirely ridiculous, and that would mean having to get up to go to the kitchen and make something that was as gross as it was satisfying to her. Glancing over to the small clock on the coffee table, she groaned lightly at the realization that she'd have to get ready for work soon enough, trying to cheer herself up though with the knowledge that, in a couple of weeks only, she'd be done with work. She'd gotten really lucky too, getting hired in her state, but she figured a year in the military did open up some good doors. She took the remote once more to shut off the tv after figuring she should probably call it quits and get ready already when she felt a sharp pain course through her stomach, causing her to drop the remote with a soft yelp, her hands instantly moving to her stomach as panic filled her - it wasn't a contraction, but obviously something was wrong. She looked around for the phone as she took in deep breaths, trying to remember what time Brett was supposed to get home.
