Taylor had never been the spontaneous type. She was more grounded, generally thinking pros and cons of a situation for a long time before making a decision on the matter, and she'd always liked it that way too. Maybe it was why she and Milo made a good couple, because he was pretty much the exact opposite and so they balanced each other well enough. Still, dating him had actually caused her in the past couple of years to do some things that were slightly out of character for her, like having sex in a changing room or walking around the mall dressed as a giant dinosaur - so that hadn't technically been his idea, but had it not been from him she definitely wouldn't have done it. In spite of that, when she was by herself, she generally kept to her old ways of trying to be logical and rational and reasonable before doing something. It was just how she'd always been, and probably how she always would be - and she didn't think it was a bad thing either, some people had to be that way, even if it didn't make her as interesting as it made some other people, she still had her level of usefulness in society.
Which was why she was still pretty much in shock with her own actions as she looked out the window while the plane landed in Kansas City. Sure, it was barely a month until the next time she'd been supposed to see Milo again, and they would have been together for more than a weekend this time because it was Christmas break, but in spite of that knowledge, she'd just grown so restless at the thought of not being able to see him for such a long amount of time still that she'd done something very out of character - knowing that her fiance had his Fridays off at college, she'd booked a plane ticket leaving New York on Thursday afternoon, deciding it wouldn't be so dramatic to miss two classes. It still wouldn't be giving her more than three days with him, because she'd definitely have to go back on Sunday, but it was more than they'd planned, and more than what he was expecting too because she hadn't told him. She didn't lose much time getting off the plane, not even needing to stop by baggage claim because she'd filled her carry on with enough clothes and such - figuring she wouldn't spend that much time dressed anyway - and she'd directly gone to get a cab, giving Milo's address and waiting anxiously until the car parked in front of his apartment building, paying the fare and heading up to his place, knocking on the door and waiting for an answer.
