Tyler was pretty glad with the decision he'd made earlier that day. Of course, now he only had to hope Holly would be too, though he couldn't see her being mad about it, but maybe just the fact that he'd taken that kind of a decision without asking her first. Then again, it was kind of a surprise so talking it over with her first would have kind of ruined it. The thing was, they'd both grown up with pets, but they'd had to leave them behind upon moving here. He doubted his wife had been heartbroken about leaving her cat behind, nor was she devastated that they didn't currently have a pet, but he kinda missed it, and he figured she would probably like having one again. Picking what kind of a pet he should get hadn't been very hard either, considering the fact that they lived in an apartment building that only allowed small pets, and he knew Holly wasn't overly fond of dogs anyway. And then, he didn't want to get anything like a hamster or a bunny or something like that, cause those were pretty smelly pets, and then, fishes were just... well... to him, they were more of a decoration than a pet.
So it hadn't been too hard to figure out that he should get a cat. Holly loved cats, she'd had one at home, and cats were easier to take care of too, especially since they didn't necessarily have time to go on a walk with a dog every day, not to mention that they were both in school full time and cats didn't mind being home alone, whereas dogs missed their owners. He wasn't putting a cross on a dog forever, because he did kinda hope he'd be able to have one again someday, when they had a house and all that stuff, but for now, a kitty would do. He'd found a cute one easily enough too, on a site dedicated to pets that were up for adoption, and he'd met with the kitten's owner a week or so ago, and just today he'd gone back to take the little thing back home with him, having made sure to get some supplies beforehand like food, litter, bowls and a litter box and so on, not to mention a small cage because he couldn't hold the kitten as he drove. He'd gotten home and gotten everything into the apartment before Holly, putting everything in their bedroom for the moment and leaving the kitten to curl up on their bed as he waited for her to get home.
