Nathan was actually pretty happy with the arrangement that had been made for Christmas break. He had been pretty conflicted between the option of going to spend the holidays with his parents, because he knew his mother wanted him to and would probably be pretty upset if he didn't, and the option of accepting Felicia's parents' invitation to go and spend the break with them, because obviously he didn't really feel like spending too much time away from his girlfriend, though three weeks wouldn't be... nah, who was he kidding, it would majorly suck. But then, it would seem that his parents and Felicia's had decided it was time they got to know each other better - which seemed a tad fast in his opinion, but he wasn't about to complain either - and so her parents had invited his over to spend Christmas with them in Chicago. They'd talked to him about it first, and he'd decided that sounded like a pretty good compromise, as had his girlfriend. On the whole, he figured that getting to spend Christmas with both his parents and his girlfriend trumped either of the other options he might have had to pick.
He'd boarded the plane to Chicago with her when break had started, which had lead to some very interesting happenings, and soon enough they'd landed at O'Hare airport, where her parents were supposed to come and pick them up. His own parents wouldn't be getting there for a few more hours though, so he didn't exactly know what was planned as to getting them, if everybody would just stick around here while waiting for them, or if he and Felicia would go on home so that they could unpack and her parents would take care of greeting them, since they'd talked on the phone before and such. Either way, he was glad to be on firm land again, because even though he wasn't scared of flying or anything like that, it wasn't exactly his first choice of activity either, and so getting out of the plane did feel like a bit of a relief - though admittingly, he hadn't had time to think about it too much this time, considering the little amount of time he'd spent in his seat before Felicia had decided to drag him over to the bathroom. All in all, it'd been a pretty decent flight in his opinion, and as he made his way over to baggage claim with her, he was pretty hopeful that the rest of the break would be just as fun.
