Today was definitely a beautiful day to be outside. It smelt like Spring time and flowers, and Stephanie had decided that she didn't feel like being stuck between four walls when the sun was shining so bright and everything just seemed so nice out. She did have some homework to do, but one of those just so happened to be a book to read for English Literature, and she figured that it would be much better to head outside to read it than to do so in her dorm room - besides, she hadn't gone to the park in a while, and this would give her the perfect opportunity to do so. That decision being taken, she got herself ready, taking a quick shower and blowdrying her hair - it might be getting warmer out but she figured it probably still wasn't warm enough that it'd be smart to go outside with wet her - before she got herself dressed, throwing on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt before grabbing her sweater and pulling it on, grabbing onto her book and iPod before she headed out of her room, bringing her key along but not bothering to lock the door behind her since her roommate was still in there.
It didn't take her very long to get to Loose Park - she didn't really know why, but of all the parks she'd seen around Kansas City, this remained her favorite one. Maybe because it was similar to one that she lived close to and loved to go to in the summer - it made her feel like she was home again. It was admittingly pretty hard, being away from her dad for such long periods of time. In spite of what she'd learnt this year, she couldn't really bring herself to be mad at him. She knew he hadn't hidden her mom's family from her because he wanted to cut her off from everybody else, he just... well, talking about his deceased wife had never been something easy for her dad, and Stephanie could understand that, even though there were times when she wished she could know more about her mother. She'd gotten her wish this year, too, after Nick's parents had invited her to spend Christmas with them, and even though she hadn't spent the whole break there, knowing she had to go home for a little bit too because her dad missed her and she missed him too, it'd been nice, getting to hear about her mom. She sighed soflty as she thought back on it, heading over to a nearby empty bench and taking a seat on it, her book laying closed in her lap as she looked around the park.
