Being secretive with Holly generally took up a lot of effort, and it was never an easy task. It wasn't so much that she asked many questions about his whereabouts and such, but the moment she got suspicious of something, there was no getting out of it until she was told exactly what was happening. Which was what had made Tyler so thankful in the past couple of weeks that he had a full afternoon every week, from noon to six, when he was completely alone at home and she was still at school, because planning a surprise with his wife around would not have been very easy - especially since she generally took up most of his attention whenever they were home at the same time, which he was well aware was not something he had anything to complain about. Nonetheless, being home alone for six hours had come in handy lately, it'd given him time to do some research online as to what he had planned for her, and when his decision had been made, it'd really just been a matter of gathering the information he'd need and going out to buy it - and there was no worries in his mind that she would anything but love it.
It was just something he'd realized a few months ago, when they'd been getting ready to celebrate their wedding anniversary - having gotten married like they had, a honeymoon just hadn't been in the plans, and at the time that had been fine. Besides, they'd already been on a vacation when they'd tied the knot, so it would have been a bit pointless to then book a trip to a different destination, not to mention pricy, so they'd just skipped the whole process, which had made sense at the time anyway since their wedding hadn't been anything big either. And he knew she would never regret that because Holly wasn't one for big weddings, but still, he wanted to at least be able to give her a honeymoon, hence why he'd booked a trip to Punta Cana in Dominican Republic for the duration of their spring break. After she'd gone to bed last night, he'd taken care of packing up both of their suitcases and placing them by the door, seeing as their flight was pretty early in the morning and he'd have a hard enough time waking her up. When the alarm rang at six in the morning, he hurriedly shut it off, his hand running over Holly's back as he pressed light kisses to her lips. "Baby, time to wake up," he told her softly, his hand moving to brush along the side of her face.
