Violet wasn't quite as excited as a lot of people at the knowledge that summer was coming fast. Of course, she was eager to get out of school, have more free time and get to see her parents again, but what good was summer break and free time for when you didn't really get to spend it with your boyfriend and your friends? She'd have Rose, and that was definitely a good thing, but it still wasn't the same. She just knew that, no matter how much she'd missed Gabe the summer before, it would be twice as much or even more this time around, and she wasn't looking forward to that, even though they'd established this year that they would actually spend time together over break. It'd taken a bit of convincing on her mother's part, but after a few long distance calls to Gabe's parents, she'd decided with her father that they would let her go for two weeks. The plane ride was not something she was looking forward to at all, quite dreading the long hours that would be spent on it, but she was willing to put up with it if it meant she'd get to spend some time with him.
Thankfully, he had decided to come back here next year rather than go back to Australia for University, and while she knew that his family probably felt badly over his decision, and that part of him probably wished he would have gone back home too, she couldn't help but be happy about his choice. She didn't know what she would have done had he decided that he didn't want to come back to the US for school next year. That would probably have meant he had no intention of coming back ever, and then... well, that would have been it. As it was, they hadn't discussed yet what would happen after college, what decision he would make then, but they still had a while before getting on that subject. Just like there were still a couple of months left before they'd have to go their separate ways for the summer, and in the meantime, she wanted to enjoy the time she got to spend with him. School work had been pretty intense lately, especially for him, but tonight they'd decided to make time for a nice, quiet evening together, and she was looking forward to it as she made her way over to his dorm room, knocking on his door once she reached it and anxiously waiting for him to open up.
