Ian sighed a bit as he shook his umbrella a bit before entering his apartment building, closing it up and heading up the stairs to his and Evie's place. It'd been raining steady since ten the previous night, and it was admittingly starting to get to him, the gloomy weather affecting his mood a bit. Hopefully though, a nice evening with his wife would be able to put things back on track. They didn't have anything specific planned, but they were finally both done with finals - he'd just finished his very last one today - and neither of them had work tonight, so he figured they could just make a nice dinner and cuddle up in front of a movie. He wanted to make this a good evening for Evie especially, knowing just how stressed out she'd been lately with school and the pregnancy, which was starting to show ever so slightly, but she was so tiny that there wasn't much of it to see just yet. Her slightly more rounded up belly was the only hint, but to people who weren't very observant, it didn't really stand out. He could obviously the difference, and so could she, but mostly they just tried to not really focus on it too much.
It was still hard for him, the idea of giving up their baby for adoption, but he knew Evie's side and he could understand and respect it. He didn't doubt that, had they made the decision to keep the baby, they would have pulled through, but he knew she wasn't ready to be a mother and he figured it wouldn't be a good environment for the baby to grow up in, or for their couple to evolve. All in all, he just had to trust that the decision they'd made was the best one, and hope that whoever adopted their baby would be good to him or her. He pushed those thoughts out of his mind for the time being though, figuring that thinking of that would be counter-productive to the idea of having a good evening, making his way inside the apartment and placing his umbrella in its stand before hanging his coat and his keys. "Evie, I'm home," he called out to his wife, not seeing her in the living room but figuring that she was home seeing as she hadn't had to go out today, at least not that he knew of, but then maybe she'd decided to go out to get some groceries, or maybe she was simply taking a nap.
